Lupita Nyongo will be the new Black Panther. The opening of the trailer shows her in the Black Panther suit and she is missing from the rest of the trailer.

n the trailer the Queen/Bassett says her entire family is dead. It also shows Lupita giving birth to T’Challa’s child.

So, the Atlanteans attack. Shuri is killed in her attempt to take the BP mantle and defend Wakandan, or maybe captured and presumed dead. Then Nakia gives birth. Somehow a heart shaped herb is found and given to her, she is powered up and quickly recovers from giving birth (she may even take it while pregnant because she is seriously injured in the Atlantean attack.) Nakia becomes BP and queen regent. She fights Namor, and maybe also rescues Shuri.

Something like that.

Season 1 was great and fresh. Season 2 didn’t know what to do with itself and just started giving everyone super powers.

By Season 3, characters were just changing motivations at the drop of a hat and it was just a huge mess of bad writing.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpossibleExhaustedHarvestmouse.mp4

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

https://i.giphy.com/media/mopdzvwJYP1FbseXKL/giphy.mp4 https://i.giphy.com/media/JrxshenT8yh7W7kpxi/giphy.mp4

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

https://giant.gfycat.com/AdorableAbandonedInchworm.mp4 https://giant.gfycat.com/ElementarySpeedyDodo.mp4

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

  • Movies featuring the early days of the internet?
    by /u/No-Chemistry-28 on September 14, 2024 at 11:47 am

Super early 00s or before, where the characters use a version of the internet that we would look at as extremely basic and silly (or nostalgic) today, even if it seemed complex and revolutionary then. It doesn’t have to be the main focal point, but I would prefer there to be at least a couple of scenes with it. Hackers, gamers, using it for communication—those kinds of things. submitted by /u/No-Chemistry-28 [link] [comments]

  • Most Egregiously Over-Stylized Movie
    by /u/BenFranklinsCat on September 14, 2024 at 10:06 am

I watched Bad Boys For Life last night (I like brainless escapism sometimes) and dear god, it felt like the director had been hired to make test footage for HDR more than a Hollywood movie. Literally every location in Miami, apparently, is packed with contrasting coloured lights. Every step the protagnosists take is framed and shot like a car commercial. Everyone is sweating 60% of the time - but somehow the sweat is like glucose, shiny and glistening. And that's not even mentioning the ridiculously over indulgent videogame inspired first person sequences. It got me wondering about other movies that just went so ridiculously over the top in visual style. Mandy sprang to mind as one, but I'm sure there's tons I dont know about. What's the biggest and most insanely over stylised movie you've seen? submitted by /u/BenFranklinsCat [link] [comments]

  • Steven Soderbergh type directors with a reputation of shooting films very fast and efficiently
    by /u/Masethelah on September 14, 2024 at 9:28 am

Some of us have heard the stories of Soderbergh shooting an entire film in just a few weeks. Are there other directors out there with a similar ability or reputation? It does not have to be critically acclaimed directors. I know Clint Eastwood often does scenes in 1 or 2 takes, and i have heard stories of Ridley Scott often coming in under budget, and perhaps even under time? I’ve heard nolan doesnt do many takes either. I have noticed David Lowery and Luca Guadagnino making a film every year more or less which might suggest they are very fast aswell? Does anyone more knowledgeable know if anyone of these directors would qualify for shooting their films very fast or are there other factors take make some of the mentioned directors have such high output? I would also love more mentions of directors with fast/short shooting production submitted by /u/Masethelah [link] [comments]

  • Finally watched "Kiki's Delivery Service" (1989), Miyazaki's incredible coming-of-age story, after years of nostalgia over the trailer that used to play on Disney VHS tapes.
    by /u/Giff95 on September 14, 2024 at 7:36 am

I delayed watching Kiki, mainly because I wanted to remember the trailer fondly. Deep down I was afraid the actual movie may possibly disappoint. However, I'm convinced I was just meant to watch it at the right time. Unsurprisingly, the animation is enchanting and transportive. Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films never cease to amaze, I'm never quite sure how to describe them in totality. They just inspire strong feelings. This movie is no different in how it addresses creative burnout and overworking yourself meticulously. Kiki is written and animated to be incredibly relatable. You want to see her succeed. It's just a nice slice of life movie. Aside from her ability to fly, there isn't much fantastical elements. It's just fantastic to spend time with Kiki as she helps and is supported by likable people. submitted by /u/Giff95 [link] [comments]

  • Uglies (2024, Netflix) | Dir. McG | Story by Scott Westerfield
    by /u/jvm16 on September 14, 2024 at 6:07 am

Context: I’m 26, and first read this series in ‘11-12 while in 5th or 6th grade. My school librarian then put me on Hunger Games (S. Collin’s) and Leviathan (S. Westerfield). Many adaptations have been made I’ve yet to see, that I would have killed for at ages 12-14. City of Ember, Looking for Alaska. For Uglies, however, after struggling to remember my Netflix login, released yesterday. I immediately stopped what I was doing and watched it. Without any knowledge of Scott’s involvement in production and writing, I can honestly say that after a decade+, the movie adaptation did very well encapsulating what I visualized as I first read the book in middle school. Immediately, I felt returned to and the nostalgia of a familiar place and time, and unlocked 3 more books worth of memories I’ve left shelved for so long. Overall: While I plan to reread the series while waiting on Pretties, Specials, and Extras, I feel as though McG did an incredible job creating the visual version of the story, characters, scenery, etc. Having waited so long to see the story I only had visualized in my head, I’m thoroughly satisfied, and highly recommend taking the time. Disclaimer: I legit have not read these books in a decade and a half. If you’re a more recent fan, forgive my hazy rose colored nostalgia, if there are inaccuracies I overlooked. Overall: 4/5 submitted by /u/jvm16 [link] [comments]

  • What is the first example of movies starring older movie stars in roles pandering to an older audience?
    by /u/neuro_space_explorer on September 14, 2024 at 5:07 am

My wife and I were talking about the movie bucket list with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. And to my knowledge (I was 18 when this came out) this was the first example I saw of older movie stars doing a sentimental “we are old but we’ve still got it” type of movie and pandered to my grandparents generation who were also now reaching that age. I then remembered watching Grumpy Old Men as a young man and realized that was probably the same setup for Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Are there any earlier examples of this? And do you think any of them pulled it off beyond pandering? Last Vegas is another that came to mind, but I feel like there has been a lot more where a ton of older actors do a weak comedy that appeals purely to older people with low bars for quality. I remember having to tell my grandfather no a lot. submitted by /u/neuro_space_explorer [link] [comments]

  • City Slickers still holds up
    by /u/fuzzy_dice_99 on September 14, 2024 at 1:11 am

Recently gave this a rewatch and while I remember it being funny, and it still very much is, the dialogue hits differently now that I’m of similar age to the male leads in the movie. The chemistry between the three leads feels lived in, and I truly believed these guys have basically known each other their whole lives. The scene where they each tell the story of their best and worst day makes you lean in, and Bruno Kirby’s punctuation on it couldn’t have been any better. The score and cinematography are also top notch. They really lean into the old Western feel with the soundtrack and it’s quite memorable. Bonus points if you spot Jake Gyllenhaal in his first role. submitted by /u/fuzzy_dice_99 [link] [comments]

  • What did you think of The Terminator (1984)?
    by /u/HeyAriAxyss on September 14, 2024 at 12:32 am

Oh man, just finished watching Terminator 1 for the first time! and the credits are rolling with that badass music as I'm writing this 😋 DA DA, DA, DA DA!!!!!! Lol. That was a fun watch - and I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did, especially around some random cheesy details around the beginning, but in great ways. Also, hearing the Terminator theme roll during the intro credits for the first time was really badass as well! It really stood out, and I like how the 'Terminator' title rolled out on screen as well. Arnold was great, and funnily it was also quite hard to take him too seriously at times, which made the movie fun as well though. And I gotta say, gotta love the prosthetics, VFX and set pieces in this film. The explosions, cyber vehicles, and man, the scene of when the Terminator was in front of the mirror fixing his eye (lol!) then began alternating between prosthetic and real Arnold 😂 was pretty funny but also really respect the creativity they went to during these times haha! The story was actually really quite simple and clear, and the whole backstory makes a lot of sense. I definitely liked how compelling the plot felt, and you can see a lot of potential for the world to develop. Watching for the first time, it was quite surprising and clear how ruthless the Terminators are as well - pretty much no mercy haha. Towards the end, was also quite funny how cyclical it was where they'd repeatedly try to destroy the Terminator, and it'd keep reviving itself. At the end when Sarah crushes it and says "You're terminated, fker" - I kind of thought, "...dat fker ain't gon die 😂" lol. But yeah, that was fun, a real classic and I can see why it's often brought up as a favourite still today. How did you find it and what are some of your favourite parts? Keen to hear, and thanks for reading as well! 🙂 submitted by /u/HeyAriAxyss [link] [comments]

The feeling of not knowing what’s next, if the protagonist is going to get what they want, the stakes felt real. Then today I watched “uncut gems” which was an EVEN more thrilling ride and if you’ve seen it you know this movie is absolutely insane. These are the only 2 movies i’ve seen in recent years that have actually made me feel something, and they’re very memorable because of it. What are some other movies you’d recommend for people who enjoy films like these? submitted by /u/Verticile [link] [comments]

  • Characters That are Pure Evil
    by /u/ShaquilleOatmeal54 on September 13, 2024 at 3:56 pm

I’ve always loved a good villain. Even then most do them have at least some sort of redeeming quality. But the portrayal of pure evil is truly a terrifying thing. My go-to for this answer is normally in Horror Michael Myers (actually just a monster no redeeming qualities) Art the Clown (finds joy in torture and killing) But outside of Horror the best answer, for me at least, is Scar from The Lion King. Power hungry, only cares for himself, kills his brother and attempts to kill his nephew. submitted by /u/ShaquilleOatmeal54 [link] [comments]

  • Mickey Rourke was supposed to be the next big thing back in the '80s and '90s.
    by /u/paynemcclane on September 13, 2024 at 3:27 pm

Adrian Lyne once told Alan Parker, "If Mickey had died while making Angel Heart, his legend might have been bigger than James Dean's." Elia Kazan said that Rourke's audition scene from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was the best audition piece he had seen in thirty years. So, what does everyone think of Mickey Rourke? submitted by /u/paynemcclane [link] [comments]

  • Doc Hollywood — what's the genre called and what are more like it?
    by /u/JeanLucPicorgi on September 13, 2024 at 1:57 pm

Do you remember that old Michael J. Fox movie where he's a fancy doctor whose car breaks down in a quaint, down-to-earth small town? He learns the charms of the quiet, non-city life and a little bit about himself along the way, too. Yes, it's formulaic, but that's a good thing in this case because I feel like watching others that follow the formula. What's that genre called? Any recommendations? submitted by /u/JeanLucPicorgi [link] [comments]
