Somehow a heart shaped herb is found and given to her, she is powered up and quickly recovers from giving birth (she may even take it while pregnant because she is seriously injured in the Atlantean attack.) Nakia becomes BP and queen regent. She fights Namor, and maybe also rescues Shuri.

Something like that.

Heroes

Season 1 was great and fresh. Season 2 didn’t know what to do with itself and just started giving everyone super powers.

By Season 3, characters were just changing motivations at the drop of a hat and it was just a huge mess of bad writing.

The blacklist, so many loopholes and a never ending plot. I mean, the female hero (forgot her name) was wanted and had her pictures broadcast nationwide live, but a couple of weeks after she can do undercover work.

Not the worst offender, but That 70’s Show tanked pretty hard once Eric left. He was sorely needed to make the chemistry of the group work.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpossibleExhaustedHarvestmouse.mp4

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

https://i.giphy.com/media/mopdzvwJYP1FbseXKL/giphy.mp4 https://i.giphy.com/media/JrxshenT8yh7W7kpxi/giphy.mp4

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

https://giant.gfycat.com/AdorableAbandonedInchworm.mp4 https://giant.gfycat.com/ElementarySpeedyDodo.mp4

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

  • 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' Review Thread
    by /u/DemiFiendRSA on March 28, 2024 at 4:50 pm

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Rotten Tomatoes 62% (100 Reviews) Metacritic: 49 (31 Reviews) Reviews The Hollywood Reporter: At one point in the film, Godzilla, weary from all that stomping around, lies down to take a well-deserved nap in the middle of Rome’s Colosseum. It’s the most relatable moment in the film. Deadline: They aren’t reinventing the wheel here, but fans ought to like it. Variety: The movie can make your head hurt. But not because it’s too convoluted to follow. It’s because the real convolution is: Why are we supposed to care? About any of this? The Wrap: When Godzilla x’es Kong — whatever the hell that means — everybody wins. Slashfilm: "Godzilla x Kong" is infectiously fun, raucous, and, in the 8-year-old sense, awesome. One will not take much away from "Godzilla x Kong," but you'll leave the theater with a big damn fool grin on your face. Total Film (3/5): Frankly, if you’re buying a ticket purely for the behemoth battles then you’ll get your money’s worth: take your pick from a trippy rumpus that defies gravity, a Copacabana beach-off, some Planet of the Apes-esque monkey business, and a literal dust-up at the Egyptian pyramids. Empire(3/5) This doesn’t reinvent the wheel, and keeps you waiting too long for the final showdown — but when the creatures collide, it still delivers satisfying thrills. IndieWire (C): The people who’ve inherited this franchise are so determined to make it “fun” that they’ve forgotten how to earn that feeling. IGN (6/10): Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire serves up a berserk dreamscape with plenty of payoff to please the MonsterVerse faithful. Shame about the human stuff, though. Screen Rant (3/5): While there is plenty of fun to be had with the monsters and the buildup towards the final showdown, The New Empire’s story feels forced. The Guardian (3/5): It’s a still fun yet far sloppier outing, a second round that’s less of a win for us and more of a draw. The Telegraph (2/5): It’s giant monsters fighting, the thing constantly shrugs: what else do you want? Ideally a bit more than this. ScreenCrush (5/10): On the level of brainless spectacle, it gets the job done. If you consider any other aspect with any degree of thought, you’re going to run into issues. Slant Magazine (1.5/4): The last 20 minutes live up to the promise of bludgeoning viewers with plenty of rock-‘em-sock-‘em combat and demolished human landscapes, but what any of it is actually for will be forgotten even before the dust begins to settle. Synopsis: The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever. Cast: Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes Dan Stevens as Trappe Kaylee Hottle as Jia Alex Ferns as Mikael Fala Chen as Iwi Queen Rachel House as Hampton Ron Smyck as Harris Chantelle Jamiesson as Jayne Greg Hatton as Lewis Kevin Copeland as Submarine Commander Tess Dobre as Submarine Officer Tim Cowell as Wilcox Directed by: Adam Wingard Screenplay by: Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, Jeremy Slater Story by: Terry Rossio, Adam Wingard, Simon Barrett Produced by:Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Brian Rogers, Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod Cinematography: Ben Seresin Edited by: Josh Schaeffer Music by: Tom Holkenborg, Antonio Di Iorio Release date: March 29, 2024 Running time: 115 minutes submitted by /u/DemiFiendRSA [link] [comments]

  • Favorite Movie Endings
    by /u/The-Movie-Penguin on March 28, 2024 at 4:23 pm

My favorite endings are the ones that basically force an image (or a sound) into your brain without directly showing you what that image is. The unseen tends to linger way longer. The Vanishing (1988) is a good example, and one of my favorite / most terrifying endings ever. Without spoiling, by seeing and experiencing one thing with one character, it literally forces you to imagine something else, and that something else is absolutely harrowing and gut-wrenching. It’s a haunting ending that has genuinely stayed with me since I first watched it. La Strada (1954) is another good example. The movie tells you what happens but doesn’t show you. You’re left to imagine, and given the context of the film and that particular character, what you’re left to imagine is f’n devastating! Rosemary’s Baby (1968), too… kind of… but I find that movie terrifying for reasons other than the whole thing with the baby’s eyes. submitted by /u/The-Movie-Penguin [link] [comments]

  • Catch Me If You Can (2002) is likely 100% BS; how well does it work when you know it's false?
    by /u/Jackieirish on March 28, 2024 at 3:06 pm

I love this movie. I've watched it dozens of times and will willingly watch it many times more. But when I first saw it, I was under the impression that I was watching a (mostly) true story. Obviously I knew it wasn't a documentary and that characters, events, conversations and the like were altered to make them more cinematic. But I still believed the basic premise and storyline was what happened. Knowing now that it's likely none of the events were even close to what really happened –if there was even as much as a germ of a basis to begin with, I am wondering if the film is still as enjoyable as a work of pure fiction or is everything that happens just too convenient to be taken seriously enough to enjoy it on its own? In other words: if this had just been a well-written screenplay from someone's imagination, would it still have had the same impact? For comparison, one of the things I could not personally get past in Forest Gump was the sheer number of coincidences that put Gump next to famous historical figures. At some point, I stopped enjoying seeing him as a witness to major historical events and just saw it as a convenient crutch for the writer to move the plot along. this makes me wonder if I would feel the same way about CMIYC. Would like to hear from anyone who learned the story was fake before seeing the film. submitted by /u/Jackieirish [link] [comments]

  • Did they change The Circle Of Life in The Lion King? My sanity is holding on by a thread
    by /u/zenocrate on March 28, 2024 at 2:21 pm

Note: I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit, happy to be redirected. Ok I think I’m losing my mind. The Lion King was my favorite movie as a kid, and I watched my original release VCR so many times it is burned into my brain. My 3-year-old is now super into the movie, which is great! I thought we’d have some nostalgia-fueled mother-son bonding time watching it on Disney+. Almost everything feels exactly how I remember it, and I’m sure I could say the dialog along with the film. Almost everything. There’s something off with The Circle of Life. I can’t put my finger on it — it’s extremely subtle. It’s the same vocalists and everything, but there are a couple moments that feel different. One example is the line “with the sun rolling high in the sapphire sky” — I swear the word “rolling” is a fraction of a second slower than it used to be. I have scoured the internet looking for any suggestion that it’s been changed on Disney+ and have found no evidence whatsoever. It’s taking all the joy out of the movie bc it’s all I can focus on! I’ve stopped showering. But the information must be out there somewhere, right? I hunch in front of my computer deep into the night, plunging ever deeper into obscure disney forums on the dark web. “Mama, I’m hungry”, cries my son, interrupting my private telegram chat with DisneySecretsDealer69420. He can get any Disney intel, for a price. Once the link expires, who knows how I will get back in touch with the mysterious and paranoid individual. I gesture vaguely toward the pantry and tell him to boil some water and make Mac and cheese. “But Mama,” he mewls. “I am only 3 years old! Allowing me to boil water on the stove is extraordinarily dangerous and neglectful. Also I have painted the cats purple.” I shush him and finish typing my social security number into the text box. tldr seriously someone please let me know if they changed the circle of life submitted by /u/zenocrate [link] [comments]

  • 3 Kids Films in the 80's were Terrifying!
    by /u/NaughtiusSpartan on March 28, 2024 at 8:50 am

As a parent now I look at some of the more modern kids films with the same age rating and they wrap kids up in wool, nothing really terrible happens to the protagonist and there are few real life lessons to be learned. 80's kids films that that really left their mark on me were: The Dark Crystal Never Ending Story Labyrinth What else I'm missing? Fortunately, these timeless classics can be shared down to the next generation to enjoy. submitted by /u/NaughtiusSpartan [link] [comments]

  • What Cosmic Horror movies would you recommend?
    by /u/jpxzzzz on March 28, 2024 at 2:20 am

I'm very fond of anything that's dark and gritty, from dark fantasies to cosmic horror, so I'm making a watchlist about anything and everything that's cosmic horror, and I would love your recommendations. Also, if there was someone to adapt a series of Lovecraftian works, who would you choose to direct them? Edit: Thank you all for these recommendations. I appreciate each and every one of you, and for those who recommended shows/series, i really appreciate it too! • What is the most egregious example of Hollywood taking an interesting true story and changing it into an excruciating dull story?
    by /u/Oolican on March 28, 2024 at 1:31 am

Robert Hanssen was a FBI agent responsible for tracking down a Russian mole. The mole was responsible for the worst breach in American security and led to the deaths of many foreign assets. Hanssen was that mole for 22 years. It's a hell of a story of intrigue totally destroyed in the movie Breach with Chris Cooper as Hanssen. What incredible true tales have needlessly been turned into dreck by Hollywood? submitted by /u/Oolican [link] [comments]

  • John Travolta made a movie in 1995 called White Man's Burden. Spoilers.
    by /u/NW_Forester on March 28, 2024 at 12:46 am

For those not familiar with this movie, it was Travolta's first movie after Pulp Fiction, Tarantino convinced Travolta to do it (or audition for it, depending on the story) and Tarantino's production house was somehow involved, or at least they were credited. The plot is basically what if white and black races were swapped. Meaning black people are the privileged class and they talk shit about white people, and white people are the underclass. Travolta ends up kidnapping the black lead (Harry Belafonte). Ends with Travolta getting shot and killed. It is written and directed by a Japanese American debut director. It fails to live up to any interesting possibilities that the concept of the movie would allow. Even with this concept is seems afraid to really challenge people in any regard. But at the same time it's a lousy movie, it is an interesting time capsule to observe how Hollywood has address racial issues over the years. Anyone see this movie? Anyone like this movie? submitted by /u/NW_Forester [link] [comments]
