Exam content
Response types
There are two types of questions on the exam:
– Multiple choice: Has one correct response and three incorrect responses (distractors)
– Multiple response: Has two or more correct responses out of five or more response options
Select one or more responses that best complete the statement or answer the question. Distractors, or incorrect answers, are response options that a candidate with incomplete knowledge or skill might choose.
Distractors are generally plausible responses that match the content area.
Unanswered questions are scored as incorrect; there is no penalty for guessing. The exam includes 50 questions that will affect your score.
Unscored content
The exam includes 15 unscored questions that do not affect your score. AWS collects information about candidate performance on these unscored questions to evaluate these questions for future use as scored questions. These unscored questions are not identified on the exam.
Exam results
The AWS Certified Developer – Associate (DVA-C01) exam is a pass or fail exam. The exam is scored against a minimum standard established by AWS professionals who follow certification industry best practices and guidelines.
Your results for the exam are reported as a scaled score of 100–1,000. The minimum passing score is 720.
Your score shows how you performed on the exam as a whole and whether you passed. Scaled scoring models help equate scores across multiple exam forms that might have slightly different difficulty levels.
Your score report could contain a table of classifications of your performance at each section level. This information is intended to provide general feedback about your exam performance. The exam uses a compensatory scoring model, which means that you do not need to achieve a passing score in each section. You need to pass only the overall exam.
Each section of the exam has a specific weighting, so some sections have more questions than other sections have. The table contains general information that highlights your strengths and weaknesses. Use caution when interpreting section-level feedback.

Content outline
This exam guide includes weightings, test domains, and objectives for the exam. It is not a comprehensive listing of the content on the exam. However, additional context for each of the objectives is available to help guide your preparation for the exam. The following table lists the main content domains and their weightings.
Content outline

In this AWS tutorial, we are going to discuss how we can make the best use of AWS services to build a highly scalable, and fault tolerant configuration of EC2 instances. The use of Load Balancers and Auto Scaling Groups falls under a number of best practices in AWS, including Performance Efficiency, Reliability and high availability.
Before we dive into this hands-on tutorial on how exactly we can build this solution, let’s have a brief recap on what an Auto Scaling group is, and what a Load balancer is.
Autoscaling group (ASG)
An Autoscaling group (ASG) is a logical grouping of instances which can scale up and scale down depending on pre-configured settings. By setting Scaling policies of your ASG, you can choose how many EC2 instances are launched and terminated based on your application’s load. You can do this based on manual, dynamic, scheduled or predictive scaling.
Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)
An Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) is a name describing a number of services within AWS designed to distribute traffic across multiple EC2 instances in order to provide enhanced scalability, availability, security and more. The particular type of Load Balancer we will be using today is an Application Load Balancer (ALB). The ALB is a Layer 7 Load Balancer designed to distribute HTTP/HTTPS traffic across multiple nodes – with added features such as TLS termination, Sticky Sessions and Complex routing configurations.
Getting Started
First of all, we open our AWS management console and head to the EC2 management console.
We scroll down on the left-hand side and select ‘Launch Templates’. A Launch Template is a configuration template which defines the settings for EC2 instances launched by the ASG.
Under Launch Templates, we will select “Create launch template”.
We specify the name ‘MyTestTemplate’ and use the same text in the description.
Under the ‘Auto Scaling guidance’ box, tick the box which says ‘Provide guidance to help me set up a template that I can use with EC2 Auto Scaling’ and scroll down to launch template contents.
When it comes to choosing our AMI (Amazon Machine Image) we can choose the Amazon Linux 2 under ‘Quick Start’.
The Amazon Linux 2 AMI is free tier eligible, and easy to use for our demonstration purposes.
Next, we select the ‘t2.micro’ under instance types, as this is also free tier eligible.
Under Network Settings, we create a new Security Group called ExampleSG in our default VPC, allowing HTTP access to everyone. It should look like this.

- Built a CLI to stop Googling SSM syntax every time I need to get into an EC2 instanceby /u/rhysmcn
I'm a cloud infra engineer and for the longest time our team's workflow for getting onto an EC2 was either remembering the exact aws ssm start-session --target i-xxxxxxx syntax (which I never could), or logging into the AWS console and clicking through to the instance connect browser terminal like it's 2010. So I built ssmctl to make it feel normal: ssmctl connect web-1 ssmctl run web-1 -- uname -a ssmctl cp ./config.yml web-1:/tmp/config.yml All you need to remember is the instance name tag or instance ID - That is it. (Obviously) no ports, no keys. Just hit v1.0.0 — install with Homebrew or grab a binary from the releases page: brew tap rhysmcneill/ssmctl && brew install ssmctl https://github.com/rhysmcneill/ssmctl Codebase is small if anyone wants to poke around or contribute. Shell completion is the obvious next thing if anyone fancies it. submitted by /u/rhysmcn [link] [comments]
- No errors, yet edits to Route53 MX records not getting savedby /u/nnray
Noticed some MX records for some domains I manage in Route53 had FQDNs without the final "." as they should have, and edited those records to add it. AWS seemed happy with the updates (no errors reported on save), however the records haven't changed. I even waited 24 hours to see if there was some sort of big delay. Is AWS doing something funny when an FQDN lacks a "." and then is added later? And does the lack of a final "." for a FQDN not matter to Route53 for some reason? submitted by /u/nnray [link] [comments]

- Is everybody moving away from long-lived access keys?by /u/0zerntpt
I know that AWS is stressing moving away from long-lived access keys. In our environment, we are thinking that our best alternatives are either AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity or AWS IAM Roles Anywhere. Our current thinking is that AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity is a better option for us though we still have questions about how to make it work in all of the required situations. However, it is amazing how little there is on the web about this. Sure, AWS has their documentation on, but there isn't much more and very few Youtube videos on it. Are we on the bleeding edge here? Is everybody prioritizing moving away from long-lived access keys? What technology are you replacing them with? submitted by /u/0zerntpt [link] [comments]
- DevOps folks: Where does PR verification actually break down for your team?by /u/External_Dish_7185
From PR opened to eployed, where does it actually break down for u? - reviews are noisy / low signal (real issues buried under tons of comments) - hard to tell if a change is actually safe - CI is flaky or too slow to fully trust - staging doesn’t really match prod - stuff still breaks after 'looks good to me' Also feels like this is getting worse with more agent-generated / repetitive PRs getting rubber-stamped. Would love to get your input on your biggest pain point in this space. submitted by /u/External_Dish_7185 [link] [comments]

- How did you build stronger AWS design instincts while still doing mostly ops work?by /u/Haunting_Month_4971
I’ve been working with AWS for about 5 years now, and I’m comfortable operating ECS, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation. But there’s a real gap between using AWS services and designing a system from scratch with the right service choices, failure modes, and cost tradeoffs. That gap is starting to matter more for me. My team is redesigning a few services right now, and I want to be the person who can own more of the architecture decisions, not just implement what someone else already decided. The problem is that most of my day is still ops work: security group reviews, IaC drift, and debugging why something falls over under load. The actual design work happens in short, scattered blocks. For an upcoming internal architecture review, I’ve been taking small scenarios from our environment and writing through the decisions: why ECS over Lambda here, where the failure points are, what needs Multi-AZ, where costs could spike, and what I’d monitor first. I’ve also been using Claude and Beyz coding assistant to pressure-test small designs and practice explaining the tradeoffs out loud, mostly because I do not have a real design partner to do this with regularly. For people who moved from hands-on cloud work into more architecture ownership, what actually helped you build that muscle? submitted by /u/Haunting_Month_4971 [link] [comments]

- Small startup struggling with runaway cloud costs and scaling issues.by /u/Firm-Goose447
We’re a small company building a SaaS platform and lately we’ve been running into serious cloud cost issues. Every time we get a traffic spike, our autoscaling ends up spinning more instances than we actually need. The hard part is we don’t really have a dedicated person managing cloud costs, so figuring out what’s actually driving spend has been difficult. Dashboards help a bit, but they don’t really explain what’s happening when everything starts scaling at once. submitted by /u/Firm-Goose447 [link] [comments]
- Passed CLF-C02!!by /u/Complete-Animator-50
Passed the exam and man I am so relieved. I was extremely nervous and was about to fall sick but honestly the exam was so easy.I have no cloud or software experience. I am doing my Master's in Econ and wanted to enter data science and hence gave the exam. And If I am being honest it was NOT an easy ride for me at all. I posted on this sub a week back about how I am only scoring in the late 60s on tutorial Dojo tests. But huge shout out to people here on this sub, who really helped me in figuring things out. I ended up postponing the exam, revising and understanding the concepts again which really helped me out. I studied the concept through Stephane Maarek's course and anyone who is about to give this exam I'd say Tutorial Dojo practice tests are a must! submitted by /u/Complete-Animator-50 [link] [comments]
- Study tool improvement question!by /u/Rageclinic_1992
Hey all! First time posting here. I’ve been working on a certification study tool project called CertNova. My initial focus was on CompTIA exams, but I've since expanded it to include AWS certifications. For those of you studying for AWS certs, what is the next best thing that would genuinely help you pass? I’m trying to think more in terms of what truly improves outcomes for people pursuing AWS certifications, and I’d rather hear that directly from people in the process than make assumptions. Curious what you feel is still missing from most study tools. submitted by /u/Rageclinic_1992 [link] [comments]
- Network engineer trying to pivot into cloud. Looking for advice on next cert/skillsby /u/Training_Comment158
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice from people who have moved into cloud roles or currently work in cloud infrastructure. I’ve been working in networking for about 10 years now (8 of which was in the military). Most of my experience has been in enterprise environments doing things like Cisco routing and switching, WAN/LAN support, firewall troubleshooting (mostly Palo Alto), VPN connectivity, wireless infrastructure (WLCs), and general network monitoring and incident response. Cert-wise I currently have: CCNP (Encor only) Cisco CyberOps and DevNet Associate CASP Network+ Cloud+ ITIL I’m also finishing up a bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering and Security at WGU. I landed a good Network Engineering job but lately I’ve been feeling like I’ve hit a bit of a ceiling in terms of growth in traditional networking, and I’m interested in transitioning more toward cloud infrastructure or cloud networking roles. My current plan over the next couple months is: Study for and pass AWS Solutions Architect Associate Start applying for cloud infrastructure or cloud network engineer roles Continue learning Terraform and infrastructure-as-code Finish my degree Long term I’d love to move into something like cloud infrastructure engineer, cloud network engineer, or platform engineer. Ideally something where I’m working with AWS networking, hybrid connectivity, and automation instead of purely traditional networking. A few questions I’d love input on: Does this seem like a realistic transition plan given my background? Is AWS SAA the right first cert, or would you recommend something else? How important is Terraform for getting that first cloud role? Are there specific types of roles networking engineers tend to transition into more easily when moving to cloud? Anything else you’d recommend learning in the next few months to make this pivot easier? Appreciate any advice from people who’ve gone through a similar transition. Thanks! submitted by /u/Training_Comment158 [link] [comments]

- Renaming a GitHub repo silently breaks CodeBuild (webhook disappears)by /u/jch254
I hit a weird issue where CodeBuild stopped triggering after a GitHub repo rename w Terraform IAC. Pushes were working fine, no errors anywhere, but builds just… never started. Turns out GitHub deletes the webhook during a rename, and AWS doesn’t recover it. Took a while to track down because there’s no failure signal, just absence. - Architecture breakdown: multi-agent decision system on AWS for the AIdeas competitionby /u/Resist-Content
Built this as part of the AWS AIdeas competition and thought the architecture might be useful to people here. The app is Diverge: a system that runs a structured 5-round debate between two possible future selves to help users reason through major decisions. What mattered architecturally: lightweight orchestration for bounded multi-agent flows keeping debates grounded in real user finance context low-cost iteration while solo-building enough observability to debug agent drift round by round A few practical lessons: the biggest cost/problem area wasn’t infra, it was model behavior and prompt efficiency standard logging wasn’t enough for multi-agent debugging, I needed per-round traces structured output validation should have been added earlier The project made the Top 50 finalists out of thousands of submissions across 115 countries. Happy to discuss architecture choices, orchestration tradeoffs, or what I’d change in a v2. If anyone wants the finalist article, I can drop it in the comments. submitted by /u/Resist-Content [link] [comments]
- Eventbridge rule not firing sometimesby /u/Slight_Scarcity321
I am trying to trigger an EventBridge event by uploading a file to a directory named catalog in an S3 bucket. I uploaded a file to the directory and the event fired, invoking a Step Function, which in turn invoked a lambda. There was an issue with the step function definition, so I corrected that in the CDK, and redeployed and now uploading to the bucket doesn't kick off the event, i.e. there is no invocation show in the monitoring tab for the rule in the console. The CDK looks like this: ``` const dataBucket = new s3.Bucket(this, "DatahubDataBucket", { bucketName: "my-bucket-" + this.account + "-" + this.region, versioned: false, removalPolicy: cdk.RemovalPolicy.DESTROY, eventBridgeEnabled: true, }); ... const rule = new events.Rule(this, "MyRule", { eventPattern: { source: ["aws.s3"], detailType: ["Object Created"], detail: { bucket: { name: [dataBucket.bucketName] }, object: { key: [{ prefix: "catalog/" }] }, }, }, }); ``` Does anyone see what I am not seeing here? Why is the event not firing? submitted by /u/Slight_Scarcity321 [link] [comments]
- Kubernetes or Bare Metal EC2?by /u/Alert_Background_178
Picture this: Laravel Application, about 1,000 users but they don't access concurrently. Likely concurrency: maybe 20–100 active at once. The system is quite complex and robust with dynamic PDF generation. Infra: AWS EC2, S3, RDS(MySQL) Should I run Kubernetes or bare metal EC2 instance? Why or why not? Is K8S an overkill with extra networking complexity or it's a necessity? I'm running a very lean team of about 4 devs, I only do quality control and write code on only complex stuff or when doing major architectural/system design. EDIT: As I've come to learn, it's not bare metal EC2. It's just EC2. Also, ECS is coming up strongly from the comments, I'm looking at it as we speak. Will possibly pivot there. submitted by /u/Alert_Background_178 [link] [comments]

- Passed SAA-C03by /u/Money_Round9387
I’ve reviewed for around 1 month, on and off due to work, and had to reschedule the exam for another two weeks. Thought I was cooked as there are easy questions I got wrong. Not sure if I got the bad RNG but the common AWS services did not show up, especially Networking (only once or twice, so unexpected and annoying as it was actually the easiest for me) I used Stephane’s Udemy course and bought TutorialsDojo (consistently 65-73% in Timed Mode). The real exam should be easier, you could definitely eliminate two choices quickly. Not sure if this is good advice but don’t get caught up with the deep and niche concepts. A solid foundation will help more as you’ll be “architecting” better solutions making the correct one obvious. Definitely read the last line of the question first! Waiting for the result was the longest 10 hours in a while. But hey, I guess I did better than I expected! submitted by /u/Money_Round9387 [link] [comments]

- Anyone replaced their custom lambda based saas ingestion with a managed ETL tool?by /u/Adventurous_Gur_5984
We built our saas data ingestion on aws the "cloud native" way. Each source has a lambda function that calls the api, processes the response, and drops json files in s3. Step functions orchestrate the extraction sequences. Eventbridge triggers schedule everything. Cloudwatch monitors for failures. The architecture diagram looks beautiful. In practice it's a disaster. We have 18 lambdas for 18 different saas sources and each one was written at a different time by a different person with different patterns. Some use python 3.8 (which aws deprecated), some use 3.12. Error handling varies from comprehensive to nonexistent. When a lambda fails, the step function catches it but the retry logic doesn't account for partial extractions so you sometimes get duplicate data. The cloudwatch alarms fire but because everything is async and distributed it takes forever to trace the actual root cause. I'm seriously considering ripping out the entire custom layer and replacing it with a managed ingestion tool that loads data directly into redshift with maybe a hybrid setup landing some raw data in s3 as well. The rest of the architecture, the redshift warehouse, glue transforms, quicksight dashboards, all works fine. It's just the first step that's causing all the pain. Has anyone done this swap and was the reduction in operational overhead worth the cost of the tool? submitted by /u/Adventurous_Gur_5984 [link] [comments]

It was an easy exam ,with direct one line questions. I had around 90 mins left, out of 120 mins(ESL). I thought it would be difficult but it was so easy. Some tips:- Make sure you know what a service does ,even a basic definition or info about it , mainly ML,Athena, shield,Cost related services. Ec2 instance types, well architected framework, CAF ,Shared responsibility are crucial of all, around 7-8 qs on these topics. Security is important, focus on KMS keys. And give hundreds of mock questions, you would not believe,i solved around 2000 questions , in 8 days, from various sources, like kaninirav, examtopics, and others. - Choosing the Right AWS Certification Path for an AI Engineer (ML vs GenAI?)by /u/pratikamath1
Hi everyone, I’m new to AWS certifications and could use some guidance. Quick background: I’m currently working as a backend/AI engineer, mostly on GCP, with some basic exposure to AWS architecture. I’m aiming for AI-focused roles and want to use certifications to strengthen my profile/stand out. I was initially considering the AWS Generative AI certification, but I’ve seen mixed opinions suggesting it might not be ideal without deeper AWS experience. Would it make more sense to start with the ML certification first and then move into GenAI? Or is there a better path you’d recommend given my background? submitted by /u/pratikamath1 [link] [comments]
- Does Cognito not support 2FA and Passkey login on the user same account?by /u/Foreign_Field_3287
Hey everyone — I’ve been working with Amplify + AWS for about a year, and recently I started expanding the authentication options in my app. My goal was to support both: passkeys 2FA I tested each feature separately, and both seemed to work fine on their own. The problem started when I combined them. After enabling 2FA on an account, Amplify / Cognito no longer seemed to let that user log in with a passkey, even if the passkey had already been set up successfully on the account. Instead, I got this result when I check the options this user has for authentication: [SignUpStep1] signInResult { "isSignedIn": false, "nextStep": { "availableChallenges": ["PASSWORD_SRP", "PASSWORD"], "signInStep": "CONTINUE_SIGN_IN_WITH_FIRST_FACTOR_SELECTION" } } So instead of allowing passkey login, Cognito only seemed to offer password-based challenges. If I tried to force the passkey flow anyway, I got this error: “Try resetting your challenge” At this point I’m trying to understand whether: passkeys + 2FA are not really supported together in the way I expected I’m missing some Cognito / Amplify configuration or this is just an undocumented edge case I tried searching around and couldn’t find much documentation or many examples of people using passkeys together with 2FA and other login options in Amplify/Cognito. Has anyone run into this before or found a working setup? submitted by /u/Foreign_Field_3287 [link] [comments]
- No tech experience, can I get a job in this time and age?by /u/PerformanceThick7461
I'm signed up for classes at the AWS Skills Builder in Seattle for the Cloud Practitioner. I will take all 4 classes within this week. Keep getting news of massive layoffs at Amazon and other tech companies, specially here in Seattle, WA. Currently unemployed since April 10th. Desperately looking for work and upskilling and Cloud seems to be where my interest lies but what is the point if thousands were laid off due to AI in the city and across the US whom I assume are seniors in their careers. What is the point of places like AWS Skills Center or of these certs in the first place if they are doing this and also they could save time and money by just handing over the jobs they are training you for with this certs to those seniors who got laid off? The unemployment office told me due to massive lay offs they can't fund any training that can lead to a job because they are overloaded and there is only a waitlist. Am I missing something here? Lots of entry level jobs are being handled by AI according to AI itself, raising the bar for the entry level. I will still try to get certified and learn as much as I can about aws but seems futile. IF there are Cloud support jobs available, wouldn't you as an employer find those people who got laid off and give them the job instead of someone just getting certified and trained since they already may have the tech experience or at least the background in the first place? I have too many questions. I will ask these questions to an instructor on my first day of class. Thanks. submitted by /u/PerformanceThick7461 [link] [comments]
- How to approach multiple courses?by /u/thinksInCode
I bought Stephane Maarek’s course and haven’t gotten too far into it yet - just finished the first section on EC2. I have another similar course through O’Reilly that I wanted to do as well. Should I finish Stephane’s first then do the next one, or should I do them at the same time, keeping the sections with the same content together? Or am I overthinking? submitted by /u/thinksInCode [link] [comments]
- Looking for Career Advice: Will the AWS Cloud Practitioner Help Me Move Into Remote IT Work?by /u/OddVariety5590
Hey everyone, I’m Jacob, 25, and currently working as a 24/7 Data Centre Site Lead in New Zealand. It’s essentially an operations role with a fancier title. I work 12‑hour shifts on a 3‑on/3‑off rotation, and my day‑to‑day includes things like: Site inductions and access requests Device installs/removals in racks Cabling Internal audits Tape management Handling facility-related tickets (Cherwell) I’m planning to move to a smaller city to be closer to family, but the downside is that there aren’t many local IT jobs. Because of that, I’m looking into getting the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification to open up more remote or WFH opportunities. For anyone who’s been down this path: Will the AWS Cloud Practitioner cert actually help me land a job, especially remote work? Or is it more of a “foot in the door” cert and I’ll need additional training before I’m employable? Any advice, personal experience, or suggestions on what to study next would be hugely appreciated. submitted by /u/OddVariety5590 [link] [comments]
- SAA-C03 - Pass - Invalidated - Pass againby /u/mawzir11
I took the exam back in November at a Pearson center, not from home. Three months later, yes three months later my result was invalidated due to "statistical anomalies". After going back and forth with the support team, I was only able to get the voucher to retake the exam. Also I'm not allowed to take any exams from home until further notice. Finally, reattempted all the practice tests and passed the exam again with 843/1000. Waiting to see if I'll get another invalidated email in 3 months time. 😅 submitted by /u/mawzir11 [link] [comments]
- Aiming for DEA-C01 in ~1 month with 0 AWS experience — is the Maarek Udemy course enough? Any advice?by /u/zaidshrkas
Hey everyone! 👋 I'm a final-year AI & Data Science student with zero AWS experience, and I'm planning to take the AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate (DEA-C01) exam in about a month. I'd love to hear from people who've already passed it! A few questions: Is the Stephane Maarek Udemy course enough on its own to pass? Or did you find gaps that needed to be filled with other resources? What other resources did you use? (Practice exams, whitepapers, hands-on labs ...) How much study time did it realistically take you? Especially if you came in with little to no AWS background. Any tips or gotchas you wish you'd known before going in? For context — I have a solid foundation in data concepts, ML, and Python, but I've never touched AWS before. I'm not sure if my data background helps bridge the gap or if AWS-specific knowledge is a completely different beast. Any advice is hugely appreciated! 🙏 submitted by /u/zaidshrkas [link] [comments]
- Am I ready for SAA-C03?by /u/Significant-Gear2322
Hey guys, need some honest feedback. I am a new grad software engineer. I am preparing for the AWS SAA-C03 certification. I took Stephane Maarek’s course in November and watched it on and off throughout the months. I started seriously watching that course in mid feb and completed the course. I also used chatgpt/claude to explain me the key concepts of some AWS resources which I found helpful along with the course. Then I came across this subreddit and took the TD practice tests after reading some posts so thanks yall for that. Now the important question is whether I am ready to take the test or no? Please take a look at some of my exam scores and give your feedback. Stephane Maarek course practice test (timed mode): 53% TD set 1 (timed mode): 64.62% TD set 2 (timed mode): 67.69% TD set 3 (timed mode): 69.23% TD set 4 (review mode): 70.77% Note that all these tests are my first time tests and I have failed all of them with marginal difference ~2-3 questions. One thing I can tell is that my ability to pick the keywords and eliminate options has gotten better as I progressed. I have reviewed the questions that I got wrong and questions that I guess and made some short notes on them ~100 one liner points and im revising them. I have also given the section wise practice test and I have passed all of them although for some questions I remember the answers due to recency bias. I would highly appreciate you guy’s feedback and any tips that might help me 🙏. I plan to give the test within the next week or 10 days and not drag it forever. PS: I also have the habit of sometimes reading the question out loud (not too loudly). Is that allowed in the exam or I have to be strictly silent for the whole duration? submitted by /u/Significant-Gear2322 [link] [comments]
- Honest Assessment for CLF-C02 exam prepby /u/fire_2_fury
I know absolutely nothing about AWS. I took the digital course on Amazon skill builder and bought the exam prep on TD. I use Gemini for daily quiz which amounts to 5 questions daily and take the practice exam on TD once a day during the weekdays, rest on weekends. I use Claude for recording results (see screenshot) and sometimes research differences for products/services offered by AWS. Lastly, when I review the results in TD, I copy the questions I got wrong with the detailed logic and the correct answer along with copying the questions I never saw before which I surprisingly got right and paste them in a word doc for additional review. I scheduled the exam 2 weeks out. Am I ready? Is there additional material I should review? Please help. submitted by /u/fire_2_fury [link] [comments]

- 50% off official AWS Exam Voucher - Professional & Specialty Certificationby /u/madrasi2021
Thanks to /u/ayoubchat11/ for highlighting this on this comment Pearson Vue are the official AWS Exam provider and also the only listed AWS Exam Voucher provider (though others like Udemy exist). They seem to have a promotion for buying vouchers for the Professional and Specialty AWS Certifications at 50% discount (down from USD 300 normally to USD 150). There are no discounts for foundational or associate level exams. Most people who take the Professional or Specialty certs already have an associate level pass and get a 50% exam pass benefit but this is the first time I have seen a big enough discount via directly purchasing a voucher. Vouchers bought this way are valid for 12 months but please do NOT buy vouchers unless you are really going to spend the time and energy studying and taking a Pro or Specialty level exam. Link : https://awsstore.pearsonvue.com/shop/exam-vouchers As always please read the terms and conditions! This image was taken on 15-April-2026 and I do not know how long this will last. 50% discount offer on AWS Pro / Specialty exams submitted by /u/madrasi2021 [link] [comments]
- Udemy voucher + retake optionby /u/madrasi2021
Udemy is now offering vouchers with some exam retake options : Single attempt voucher usually saves 10% compared to the full price For approximately 10% MORE than the full price of a single exam, you can get a retake IF you fail the first time. Udemy just doubles the price of a single exam and shows a way bigger discount. This offer will also NOT stack or combine with any other offer. If you had passed an AWS exam previously and had the 50% exam benefit, you cannot combine that with this retake offer. This is not the same as the "FREE Retake" offers we have seen before via AWS / Vue Pearson where you got both a discount AND a free retake. All details are at https://www.udemy.com/all-certification-vouchers/ Scroll the list of exams and find the exam you are interested in and see the pricing details. Important timing : Exam Voucher (one attempt) is valid for at least 9 months after purchase. I recommend ONLY buying it when you are ready to take the exam. For Exam voucher + Retake (two attempts), the initial exam attempt must be completed by December 31, 2026. The retake exam must then be taken by January 31, 2027. Note that I am based in UK and Udemy pricing for vouchers in your location may vary. I include a sample snippet of what I see as the offer. The associate level exam is USD 150 but in UK we get 20% VAT added on top which makes it USD 180, roughly £135 (today's currency rate). A single attempt voucher is showing up as £120.99 and the voucher with a retake is listed as £147.99. https://preview.redd.it/r5qtiuuw42rg1.png?width=1146&format=png&auto=webp&s=354f3c94c582a6e3a5265d60c65f10710f2be249 submitted by /u/madrasi2021 [link] [comments]

- AWS WorkMail - Can't send emailsby /u/short_vix
I don't know what changed but since yesterday we can't reply to emails to many places, AWS work mail was supposed to go offline in 2027 but looks like we're being forced to switch much sooner. Anyone know if this was a change by AWS to use SES to send emails or if this was an update from actual spam filters? I Passed AWS Developer Associate Certification DVA-C01 Testimonials
Passed DVA-C01
Passed the certified developer associate this week.
Primary study was Stephane Maarek’s course on Udemy.
I also used the Practice Exams by Stephane Maarek and Abhishek Singh.
I used Stephane’s course and practice exams for the Solutions Architect Associate as well, and find his course does a good job preparing you to pass the exams.
The practice exams were more challenging than the actual exam, so they are a good gauge to see if you are ready for the exam.
Haven’t decided if I’ll do another associate level certification next or try for the solutions architect professional.
Cleared AWS Certified Developer – Associate (DVA-C01)
I cleared Developer associate exam yesterday. I scored 873.
Actual Exam Exp: More questions were focused on mainly on Lambda, API, Dynamodb, cloudfront, cognito(must know proper difference between user pool and identity pool)
3 questions I found were just for redis vs memecached (so maybe you can focus more here also to know exact use case& difference.) other topic were cloudformation, beanstalk, sts, ec2. Exam was mix of too easy and too tough for me. some questions were one liner and somewhere too long.
Resources: The main resources I used was udemy. Course of Stéphane Maarek and practice exams of Neal Davis and Stéphane Maarek. These exams proved really good and they even helped me in focusing the area which I lacked. And they are up to the level to actual exam, I found 3-4 exact same questions in actual exam(This might be just luck ! ). so I feel, the course of stephane is more than sufficient and you can trust it. I have achieved solution architect associate previously so I knew basic things, so I took around 2 weeks for preparation and revised the Stephen’s course as much as possible. Parallelly I gave the mentioned exams as well, which guided me where to focus more.
Thanks to all of you and feel free to comment/DM me, if you think I can help you in anyway for achieving the same.
Passed the Developer Associate. My Notes.
There was more SNS “fan out” options. None of the Udemy or Tutorial Dojo tests had that.
They aren’t joking about the 30 min check I and expiring your exam if you don’t check in at least 15 mins before hand.
When you finish do a pass over review for multi select questions and check the number required.
Review again and look for gotcha phrases like “least operational cost”, “fastest solution”, “most secure”, and “least expensive”. Change your answers of you put on what “you” would do.
Watch out for questions that mention services that don’t really have anything to do with the problem.
Look at every service mentioned in the question. You can probably think of a better stack for the solution but just adhere to what the present.
If you are clueless of an answer start by ruling out the ones you KNOW are wrong and then guess.
Take as many practice exams like tutorial dojo as you can. On review filter out the review for “incorrect”. Open another tab on the subject and read up or book mark it.
I would get 50-60% first pass at each exam. Then 85-95% after reading the answer and the open tabs and book marks.
If taking the Pearson proctored online test down load the OnVue App as soon as you can. Installing that thing made me miss the 15 min window and I had to rebook and pay. Their checkin is confusing between all the cert portals and their own site. Just use the “Manage Pearson Exams” from the aws cert portal to force auth to theirs.

Passed DVA-C01 scored 910
Past January as usual I chose some goals to achieve during 2022, including to obtain an AWS certification. In February I started studying using the Pluralsight platform. The course for developers is a good introduction but is messy sometimes. At the end of the course I had a big picture of the main AWS services but I was really confused by all the different topics. Pluralsight offers alsl some labs that allowed me to practice with AWS services because I my work wasn’t related to cloud.
Then a senior engineer suggested me to study using ACloudGuru platform and I loved their contents. They focus only on the details necessary for the exam. During the videos they show useful list to summarize services and tables to compare them. Moreover they offer a quite unrestricted playground where to put your hands. So i could try their labs but also try my first cloudformation scripts and lambdas. There are also 4 practice exams that are very similar to real questions. Even though their platform is buggy sometimes, the subscription was worth it.
At the same time I purchased the pack of practice questions from Jon Bonso on Udemy and indeed the answer explainations are very detailed and very useful.
For practicing more, I was adding wrong questions to the Anki desktop application but I was revising them on my phone whenever I could. I ended up with 150 different questions on Anki.
In the meantime, in August I left my software engineer job because my boss told me that I was not able to work with cloud technologies. In september I started a new job as cloud engineer in a new company. Finally, in October I passed the Developer Associate exam and I scored 910.
I put a lot of effort into prepare the exam and eventually i got it! However I believe this is just my first step and I want to keep studying. My next objective is the Solutions Architect Associate certification.
