[Homemade] – Food you made. This includes food made from scratch, or food assembled from pre-made ingredients.
[Pro/Chef] – You work in a food-related industry and made it. Chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, butcher, sous chef, and food photographers all fit into this category.
[I ate] – You went to a place and most likely exchanged money to eat this. This tag includes restaurants, food trucks, etc.
Pure Food and Wine:
Everyone knows that food is important. It’s one of the basic necessities of life, after all. But what exactly is “food”? It’s not just the stuff that you buy at the grocery store or order at a restaurant. It’s also the meals that you eat at home, and even the snacks that you enjoy between meals. In short, food is anything that you eat or drink to nourish your body.
But not all food is created equal. Some foods are better for you than others, and some are even downright bad for your health. That’s why it’s important to be choosy about what you eat. And one way to do that is to make sure that you’re eating pure food.
So what exactly is pure food? Simply put, it’s food that has been made without the use of any artificial additives or chemicals. This means that pure food is free from pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, and other harmful substances. It’s also usually organic, meaning that it was grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers or genetic engineering. In short, pure food is the kind of food that nature intended for us to eat.
If you’re looking for pure food, your best bet is to stick with homemade meals made from fresh, whole ingredients. But if you don’t have time to cook at home, there are plenty of restaurants and eateries that serve pure, healthy cuisine. Just make sure to do your research so that you can be sure you’re getting the real deal. After all, your health is worth it!
8 major food allergens:
Everyone has different dietary needs and restrictions. Some people are vegetarian, some people are kosher, and some people have food allergies. While it is possible to accommodate all of these diets, it can be difficult to keep track of everything. That’s why it’s important to know the top 8 major food allergens. This way, you can be sure that everyone will be able to enjoy your homemade cuisine or go out to eat without worry.
The top 8 major food allergens are: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat. If you or someone you know has a food allergy, it is important to avoid these ingredients. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on all the fun. There are plenty of delicious recipes that don’t use any of these ingredients. So whether you’re cooking for yourself or for a group, you can rest assured that everyone will be able to enjoy your meal.
These eight items are responsible for the vast majority of serious allergic reactions in the United States. If you have a severe allergy to one of these foods, it’s important to be careful when eating out or consuming homemade meals. Some restaurants are better than others at accommodating allergies, but it’s always best to err on the side of caution. By being aware of the top eight major food allergens, you can help keep yourself safe and healthy.

- Street-style grilled skewers with cheese and wrapped meats [I Ate]by /u/Ashwani1987 (Food Photos on Reddit) on January 21, 2026 at 9:40 am
Came across this amazing street food grill setup – skewers loaded with different meats, some wrapped in leaves, some topped with melted cheese, all grilled fresh on charcoal 😋🔥 The smell itself was enough to pull me in. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and that smoky flavor from the grill just hits different. Honestly, this kind of street food > fancy restaurant food any day. Have you ever tried something like this? - UK looking for poor people meals that are healthyby /u/Synopsis-or-Blind (FoodHacks) on January 21, 2026 at 8:20 am
So we are skint, we have to eat of course but are trying to lose weight. We love chilli, stuffed peppers and mushrooms with rice or chilli itself, fajita mix or cous cous. We love from scratch recipes for spagbol, curry etc and one pot or slow cooker meals like chicken casserole. We are just sick of eating the same things. We are looking for some meals our kids will eat too as we make theirs separate sometimes as one will not eat peppers or tomatoes/tinned tomatoes or onions and believe me we've tried, he's 12, it ain't happening. Thank you submitted by /u/Synopsis-or-Blind [link] [comments]

- Choosing dine-in over delivery felt like a small win todayby /u/Ambitious-Promise717 (FoodHacks) on January 21, 2026 at 5:15 am
Trying to be more intentional with daily choices. Instead of ordering delivery, I walked to a nearby place and ate there. Used a 20% discount earlier sa GRAB with with MORESAVING and paid less than delivery. Not only was it cheaper with a small dine-in discount, but the food was fresh, I didn’t rush, and it felt nice to just sit and eat without screens or waiting for a rider. It reminded me that sometimes saving money isn’t about finding the best deal—it’s about slowing down and choosing the simpler option. Small change, but it made the day feel lighter. submitted by /u/Ambitious-Promise717 [link] [comments]
- [homemade]Black Pepper Beef Bites. Juicy, peppery, and very easy to makeby /u/AccomplishedWing688 (Food Photos on Reddit) on January 21, 2026 at 5:07 am
This is a simple black pepper beef recipe I usually make at home. You can use any beef you like. If you want the beef to be extra tender, tenderloin or steak cuts work best. I am using steak here as an example, but feel free to use whatever you have. The key to good texture is the marinade. It only takes about ten minutes, and longer marinating will give more flavor. Beef Marinade 2 tablespoons cooking wine. Vodka also works if you like. 1 teaspoon soy sauce. 1 quarter teaspoon salt. 1 tablespoon oil to keep the beef juicy. A very small pinch of baking soda. This is the key to Juicy beef. Mix everything with the beef cubes and marinate for about ten minutes. Set aside. Vegetables Dice bell peppers and onion. I used a fajita veggie mix from Nugget because I wanted to save time. Mince ginger and garlic. Black Pepper Sauce 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce. 1 tablespoon oyster sauce. 1 tablespoon ketchup. 1 teaspoon sugar. 1 quarter teaspoon salt. 2 tablespoons black pepper. 1 half teaspoon white pepper. 2 teaspoons cornstarch. Cooking Heat a pan on high heat, add a little oil Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until just cooked and browned Remove the beef, don’t clean the pan Add ginger, garlic, peppers, and onion — stir-fry until slightly soft Put the beef back in, turn heat to max Pour in the black pepper sauce and stir quickly Finish with a tiny splash of sesame oil, toss, and you’re done ENJOY! submitted by /u/AccomplishedWing688 [link] [comments]

- Stop fizzy drinks from losing the fizz once openedby /u/ninpuukamui (FoodHacks) on January 16, 2026 at 5:06 pm
Squeeze as much of the bottle as you can to bring the liquid as high as you can in the bottle, leaving as little air as possible on the top. Then, screw the cap as hard as you can. The fizz usually leaves the liquid to enter the lower pressure air area, so if you remove that, the fizz stays. This wouldn't have been possible with the bottles that were used in my youth, but th6is new flimsy bottles work great. submitted by /u/ninpuukamui [link] [comments]

- Put the lettuce at the bottom of your burgers!by /u/EarPsychological2530 (FoodHacks) on January 14, 2026 at 6:59 pm
I discovered something very clever for your burgers, especially if you’ve put sauce on them. If you have, always put the lettuce on the bottom of the burger. By not doing so, the sauce can leak and actually destroy the bottom bun. The lettuce can help to stop the sauce from leaking through the bun. submitted by /u/EarPsychological2530 [link] [comments]
- Mason genie questionsby /u/luckiestgiraffe (FoodHacks) on January 14, 2026 at 6:38 pm
I go though a lot of ziploc bags, but I'm trying to use less plastic, and avoid food waste. I use a mason genie for dry foods storage, and I'm starting to experiment with food that is refrigerated or frozen. I'd love to have the benefit of other people's experiences so that I don't waste a lot of food. I've done cut and uncut salad veggies, prepared bean salad, shredded cheese, and coffee beans. So here are the foods I'm thinking about: Uncut bananas and avocados that are ripe before I'm ready for them. Can I slow them down?? Tofu. I open a package but only use about 50%. Can I seal the rest for 5-7 days? Opened can of salmon or tuna, same problem as tofu. I'd like to have more time before I eat it again. Cooked brown rice. I make a large batch, refrigerate it, and eat it all week, but now I'm told that's risky. Can I seal it in meal size portions? Please tell me if you've tried any of these, and how they turned out. And if you have other mason genie tips and tricks i'd love to hear about them. submitted by /u/luckiestgiraffe [link] [comments]
