Lupita Nyongo will be the new Black Panther. The opening of the trailer shows her in the Black Panther suit and she is missing from the rest of the trailer.

n the trailer the Queen/Bassett says her entire family is dead. It also shows Lupita giving birth to T’Challa’s child.

So, the Atlanteans attack. Shuri is killed in her attempt to take the BP mantle and defend Wakandan, or maybe captured and presumed dead. Then Nakia gives birth. Somehow a heart shaped herb is found and given to her, she is powered up and quickly recovers from giving birth (she may even take it while pregnant because she is seriously injured in the Atlantean attack.) Nakia becomes BP and queen regent. She fights Namor, and maybe also rescues Shuri.

Something like that.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpossibleExhaustedHarvestmouse.mp4

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

https://i.giphy.com/media/mopdzvwJYP1FbseXKL/giphy.mp4 https://i.giphy.com/media/JrxshenT8yh7W7kpxi/giphy.mp4

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

https://giant.gfycat.com/AdorableAbandonedInchworm.mp4 https://giant.gfycat.com/ElementarySpeedyDodo.mp4

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

We are coming up on the 2 year anniversary of this weekly movie night commencing. There are 8 of us in the group and it's been a really great weekly ritual. We've all been exposed to some amazing (and some not so amazing) new films. Even the less loved ones have been interesting and worthwhile in their own way and have given us lots to talk about. It's consistently a highlight of my week. We finally compiled all the films into a list (in no particular order) and it's a pretty diverse and wide ranging encapsulation of our tastes. They range from beloved classics to really bizarre esoteric choices. The most loved and most disliked ones by the group have been quite surprising. • What’s gotten into me?
    by /u/HuntPuzzleheaded4356 on September 17, 2024 at 11:41 pm

I’m a 30 year old man and I cry during movies now. I was never this emotional before. This happen to anybody else as they got older? For example, Boyz N The Hood, the scene where Ricky gets killed, I never used to cry as a kid watching that, but now I do. Especially when Brenda is freaking out and Furious tells Trey “you my only son and I’m not gonna lose you to no bullshit.” I even find myself getting emotional during scenes that aren’t even sad like the Layla montage in Goodfellas because it’s just so beautiful to me. Emotional scenes and scenes that are just powerful to me get me emotional now. It never used to be like this. A scene that would get me emotional now, I’d watch with a blank face when I was younger. Is there a word to describe this? What changed since I’ve gotten older? Could it be because my zodiac sign is cancer and we’re deemed emotional? Is it the cinematography? submitted by /u/HuntPuzzleheaded4356 [link] [comments]

  • Babe 2: Pig in the City is a horror movie
    by /u/BardInChains on September 17, 2024 at 9:18 pm

You know what you're getting into with most horror films. It's usually the selling point. However, fate decreed that a horror movie be made by stealth, and that film is Babe 2: Pig In The City. This film was a stealthy "fuck you" by the director / writer George Miller. He didn't want to make a sequel to his unexpectedly successful first film, he really wanted to make a horror movie, so when the studio started piling money on the table he must have thought "Maybe... I can do both!" For the first ten minutes or so the film continues the quiet whimsy of Babe, the silly duck is back and doing more adorable slapstick, it's exactly by-the-numbers what you'd expect a sequel to a film about a pig who can talk to sheep is going to be. Then Babe gets into a plane, the duck tries to fly alongside and hilariously can't keep up... and that's the exact point at which Miller knew the studio suits would stop watching the preview and wave it through to global distribution. You can visibly note the film changing color palette and hear the audio profile become more gritty as the movie abruptly morphs from "more of the same crap for little kids" into "a nightmarish descent into stylized animal exploitation and cruelty". You might think I'm trying to be funny, I'm fucking not. Once you see this film you do not joke about it. It is beyond belief Miller pulled this bait and switch, let alone got it into cinemas. The sequence where the animal squat is raided and all of the little heroic creatures are captured and dragged outside occurs in real time, without a soundtrack bed. There's mass dog-murder, talking animal misery, one of the animals commits suicide, what the fuck happened to "Baa Ram Ewe"? And then, as if to laugh in your stupid horrified face, the very last five minutes returns to the jolly farm fantasy of Babe, as if Miller was gaslighting you that you had somehow fallen asleep and dreamed all the horror stuff yourself. I didn't! I watched it again to make sure: it was worse than I remembered, so much worse. submitted by /u/BardInChains [link] [comments]

  • If you saw American Beauty in theaters while in High School, you are now as old as Lester Burnham. Let's discuss preconceptions we gained from movies that our experiences never matched.
    by /u/hombregato on September 17, 2024 at 5:10 pm

American Beauty turns 25 today, and if you were in High School in 1999, you are now approximately the age of Kevin Spacey as Lester Burnham. Despite this film perfectly encapsulating the average American middle class experience in 1999 for many people, the initial critical acclaim and Best Picture win has been revisited by a generation that now finds it out of touch with reality and the concerns of modern life and social discourse. Lester Burnham identifies his age as 42 in the opening monologue, and the events of the film cover approximately one year earlier. At the time, he might have resembled your similarly aged dad. He now seems like someone in his lower 50s. He has a cubicle job in magazine ad sales, but owns a picture perfect house, two cars, a picket fence, and a teenage daughter he increasingly struggles to relate to. While some might guess this was Hollywood exaggeration, it does fit the experience of even some lower middle class people at the turn of the century. It's the American Dream, but feeling severed from his spirit, passion, and personal agency by a chronically unsatisfied wife and soul sucking wage slavery, Lester engages in a slash and burn war against invisible chains, to reclaim his identity and live recklessly to the fullest. Office Space, Fight Club, and The Matrix came out the same year. It was a theme. But after 9/11 shifted sentiment back to safety and faith in authority, the 2007 recession inspired reverence for financial security, and a series of social outrage movements against those who have more, saved little, and suffer less, Lester Burnham is viewed differently, and the film has been judged, perhaps unfairly, by our current standards rather than through the lens of its time. While the character was always meant to be more ethically ambiguous than "hero of the story", and increasingly audiences mistake depiction for condonement, many are revolted by the selfishness and snark of a privileged straight white male boomer with an office job salary that many would kill for, living comfortably in a home most millennials will never be able to afford. At the very least, it became harder to sympathize, even before accusations were made against the actor who played him. With this, I wonder what other movies followed a similar path, controvertial or not. What are the movies that defined your image of adult life, or the average American experience, which now feel completely absurd in retrospect? Please try to keep it to this topic. submitted by /u/hombregato [link] [comments]

" A teaser trailer for the film adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are (USA, 2009) was first screened alongside the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas (USA) on its release on 9 December 2000. At that point, the film was scheduled for release by Universal in 2001, but when plans by director Spike Jonze to shoot the film using live action and practical special effects fell through owing to budgetary issues, Universal dropped the project, which was subsequently picked up by Warner Bros, eventually seeing release on 11 December 2009, a full nine years and two days after the initial trailer had first been screened. • I Love Characters Accidentally Explain the Whole Plot in Advance
    by /u/littletoyboat on September 17, 2024 at 3:35 pm

One of my favorite parts of Moulin Rouge is when the cast pitches the show-within-a-show to the investor, and they basically describe everything that's going to happen in the rest of the movie, even including the duke's note that "in the end should someone die?" A similar thing happens in Shaun of the Dead, when Ed describes what they should do that evening. What I love about these scenes is that, the first time you watch them, you don't even know that it's foreshadowing. (Okay, maybe you can guess that in Moulin Rouge). They're not just foreshadowing the ending or one particularly dramatic turn, either; they're outlining the whole movie across several beats of the plot. I don't even know if there's a name for this specific type of whole-plot foreshadowing (I couldn't even find it on TV Tropes). There's got to be other movies I'm not remembering right now where the characters inadvertently describe the rest of the film.
