Nakia becomes BP and queen regent. She fights Namor, and maybe also rescues Shuri.

What TV show was amazing at first but became unwatchable for you later on?

Heroes

Season 1 was great and fresh. Season 2 didn’t know what to do with itself and just started giving everyone super powers.

By Season 3, characters were just changing motivations at the drop of a hat and it was just a huge mess of bad writing.

The blacklist, so many loopholes and a never ending plot. I mean, the female hero (forgot her name) was wanted and had her pictures broadcast nationwide live, but a couple of weeks after she can do undercover work.

Not the worst offender, but That 70’s Show tanked pretty hard once Eric left. He was sorely needed to make the chemistry of the group work.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpossibleExhaustedHarvestmouse.mp4

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

https://i.giphy.com/media/mopdzvwJYP1FbseXKL/giphy.mp4 https://i.giphy.com/media/JrxshenT8yh7W7kpxi/giphy.mp4

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

https://giant.gfycat.com/AdorableAbandonedInchworm.mp4 https://giant.gfycat.com/ElementarySpeedyDodo.mp4

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

  • Nic Cage is exactly doing the types of movies that we complain Hollywood isn't doing anymore.
    by /u/Comfortable_Kiwi_401 on February 27, 2024 at 5:24 pm

Okay I think that this might be an unpopular opinion and I might get a lot of downvotes for this... So I have been on a recent spree of watching most of the Nic Cage's movie (again!) and came to realize that most of the movies are the totally different than the other one and there's some sense of uniqueness to it. Well either it be from early movie choices like Adaptations, or his more recent movies like Mandy, Pig or Dream Scenario, one can't complain about the movies he do. No matter how weird the ideas of these movies may sound like, always feels at home with Cage in it (or maybe I have come to a state where I accept who he is and enjoys everything he does). Also I don't know some of my friends who consider them as a "cinephile" hate a movie by default if he is in a movie. So I tend to think others may think the same too. I mean I wouldn't consider his every movies to great or masterpiece, but I wouldn't call them bad either because all his movies have some interesting premise. All of this movies somewhere lie between 7s to 9s out of 10. It's the consistency that matters. I'm sure there's many other films to look out for if someone wants something different (like many indie movies, A24's, etc.) and even better ones. But one can't simply go wrong with recommending a Nic Cage movie. submitted by /u/Comfortable_Kiwi_401 [link] [comments]

  • what is a movie that people often miss the point of?
    by /u/herequeerandgreat on February 27, 2024 at 3:35 pm

it is often said that there is not wrong way to interpret art. and while that generally is true, there are numerous cases of people who view a work of art and come out of it having completely missed the point. this tends to happen a lot with movies. there are many ways this can happen. viewers thinking that a movie is promoting a certain lifestyle despite the movie actually condemning that lifestyle. viewers admiring a character that the movie makes clear you should not admire. viewers thinking the movie pushes a certain moral when the movie is actually not pushing that moral. what is a movie that people often miss the point of? submitted by /u/herequeerandgreat [link] [comments]

  • Is there a monologue from a movie so good it should be studied in schools?
    by /u/Ill_Control8536 on February 27, 2024 at 2:16 pm

I often think that our schools overlook the poetry that can be found by modern screenwriters of movies in favor of older novelists and playwrights. I'm an incredible fan of Shakespeare but I would imagine if he were born in modern times his works would have been on the screen and not in the theater. Still, it amazes me that his words were so powerful that even though they were meant to be enjoyed as a play, they are now studied as literature. Which got me wondering...what monologue is so good that it could be studied amongst the great literary works of all time? Who in our modern age has achieved in the monologue of a moviescript what Shakespeare did for the many iconic monologues in his plays? Something that could be studied on it's own as a literary masterpiece. submitted by /u/Ill_Control8536 [link] [comments]

  • What’s the best “all is lost” moment?
    by /u/markstormweather on February 27, 2024 at 5:32 am

The part of the movie where every plan has failed and it seems like the characters are doomed, right before they’re saved. For me, I think Independence Day has a great one. After the nukes failed and the presidents wife died, everything seems hopeless. This massive spaceships are undefeatable. Watching it in theaters the first time as a kid, I was on the edge of my seat, wondering how the hell they could get out of this. Then of course Goldblum did the classic “say that again” and we’re back on. submitted by /u/markstormweather [link] [comments]

  • Does General Hummel's squad in The Rock have the highest quality of acting calibre out of any movie villain's lackeys?
    by /u/MissingLink101 on February 26, 2024 at 10:54 pm

Are there any other movie villains who can boast a better following than: Bokeem Woodbine David Morse John C McGinley Tony Todd Raymond Cruz Gregory Sporleder and more (alongside the excellent Ed Harris as the head of the group) These are all talented and recognisable character actors with prominent roles elsewhere rather than the usual stunt man fodder you usually see playing guns for hire behind the main villain/s. What other movies can compete with this? EDIT: Yes, preferably only villain squads otherwise you could just say something like Avengers Endgame and win if you're including protagonist/hero squads. Villain teams tend to be just bodies for the hero to kill which is why I found it interesting that there are so many recognisable faces in The Rock (I'm watching it on TV now). submitted by /u/MissingLink101 [link] [comments]

    by /u/HiDiddleDeDeeGodDamn on February 26, 2024 at 9:15 pm

So in the scene where Tommy makes Spider dance for him, the following exchange happens between Tommy and Jimmy at the poker table. "Hey, what's that movie that Bogart made?" "Which one?" "The one where he played a cowboy, he only did one." "Shane?" Tommy then stops mid-sentence and repeats "Shane" back in a "Don't be stupid" tone as Jimmy and the others get a good laugh. I know Shane is a Western from 1953 that Bogart was not involved in, but other than that I am lost. Does anybody have insight into what's funny about this? Is it just a "guess the wrong movie on purpose" joke. Or is there something funny about suggesting Shane in particular? • the third Trolls film has a toxic message in my opinion especially for a film targeted towards young children.

in the movie's story we are shown Branch's brothers being unreliable selfish jerks they all abandoned him and their Grandmother after a petty argument that wasn't even with them. they never returned except for JD but that was still after a number of years as by that point the Trolls had already moved on from that location. and as a result Branch legit had no one when his Grandma was killed when he was just a kid and lived with pretty much ptsd by himself for most of his life and in present day JD shows up just because he wants something from him ( his help saving Floyd ) and none of the bros act in any way remorseful for leaving him. instead they just act all casual and chummy and don't respect any sort of boundaries he tries to put up nor do they respect his feelings on the matter. and later on after Bruce and JD have one petty fight they decide once again that they should just cut everyone in the family off and Bruce even has the Gaul to call Branch immature for being upset by this even tho Branch was fine with not having them back in his life originally he tried to keep his distance but Bruce and JD literally dragged him on stage to perform with them and acted all chummy towards him. and Bruce making like he's immature for having perfectly valid feelings is just emotionally abusive I'm sorry but that's what it is. so in short Branch suffered the worst because of his family's choices and it sucks how little the movie actually held them accountable they didn't even say sorry ffs but Honestly their no more worthy of forgiveness from Branch than Velvet is worthy of forgiveness from Veneer and I'd argue the bros are worse in their Treatment of Branch given the legit consequences it had on his life. I swear the family Drama in this film ticks me off the more and more I think about it its straight up a bad message for a film targeted towards young children to have as it encourages staying in toxic family dynamics even if said family show no actual positive signs of remorse or changing for the better. it basically pushes the cave man idea that Blood and DNA is what makes a family and it doesn't matter how unreliable they are throughout your life or how badly they treat you you should always forgive family even if they are literally only family in the biological sense. since they were absent for practically his entire life so he Hardly knows them and what he does know is all very negative tbh. like I said its a bad message but it worries me that a kids film has this message as at worst it could straight up tell them that their abusive family environment isn't so bad and they should keep on forgiving toxic family who let them down time and time again simply for the fact that they are family. edit. keep in mind people we all have our own opinions on how much we choose to get invested in animated family films lets all try and stay civil and Respectful of each other's opinions yeah. end of the day we're just talking about a movie for fun no need to get personal. submitted by /u/peanut4009 [link] [comments]
