Something like that.

Heroes

Season 1 was great and fresh. Season 2 didn’t know what to do with itself and just started giving everyone super powers.

By Season 3, characters were just changing motivations at the drop of a hat and it was just a huge mess of bad writing.

The blacklist, so many loopholes and a never ending plot. I mean, the female hero (forgot her name) was wanted and had her pictures broadcast nationwide live, but a couple of weeks after she can do undercover work.

Not the worst offender, but That 70’s Show tanked pretty hard once Eric left. He was sorely needed to make the chemistry of the group work.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

https://giant.gfycat.com/ImpossibleExhaustedHarvestmouse.mp4

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

https://i.giphy.com/media/mopdzvwJYP1FbseXKL/giphy.mp4 https://i.giphy.com/media/JrxshenT8yh7W7kpxi/giphy.mp4

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

https://giant.gfycat.com/AdorableAbandonedInchworm.mp4 https://giant.gfycat.com/ElementarySpeedyDodo.mp4

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

I have loved this guy ever since I first saw him in the movie Hackers as a 10-year-old. I always assumed he was in his mid-40s or so in that movie. I also loved him in the show Succession, and assumed he was at least in his late 70s ... I just actually Googled his age for the first time in my life and I was utterly shocked to see he's only 60?! 60 might seem old if you're super young, but at the age of 39, it's utterly wild to think he's only about 20 years older than me. submitted by /u/Wodsole [link] [comments]

    by /u/TheMightyHetSpeaks on April 19, 2024 at 7:27 pm

I've seen well over a thousand movies and I've covered most of what people generally view as classics or pop culture staples. My watchlist is seemingly never ending, yet I feel paralyzed when it comes to deciding what to watch next at this point. Part of it comes from burnout, I'm sure, but I've also been going through a mental rut of sorts in my personal life. I think it's made my patience worse especially when it comes to consuming entertainment. I need a shortcut to something potent. Something reinvigorating that's probably more on the lesser known side (but doesn't have to be). Any genre will do. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/TheMightyHetSpeaks [link] [comments]

I am familiar with John Woo's films mainly with the stuff he has made in the U.S. I had heard about this film before but had never watched it until now. I just finished watching it about 20 minutes ago. It was pure awesomeness from beginning to end. Every bullet riddled body every explosion, someone flying across the room or a room being demolished by gun fire felt like a well choreographed dance, this film was a masterpiece in action filmmaking and shouldn't be missed. There was a scene that looks like it was done in one take and it was beyond epic. • The comedy Rat Race is 23 years old. Has there been a recent movie where a bunch of comedy actors take part in a batshit crazy story full of hijinks?
    by /u/theYorkist01 on April 19, 2024 at 3:08 pm

I’m visiting Vegas soon and rewatched Rat Race after seeing it multiple times on VHS when I was younger. Cuba Gooding Jr. Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Whoopie Goldberg and more all thrown together in a melting pot of hilarity. A bunch of characters, some serious, some goofy, all cannonballing themselves into a mental race across state lines. They fall out, have breakdowns, throw up, crash into things, destroy entire buildings: anything you can think of happens in this movie and it’s just stupid fun. It made me think about if there have been any other recent comedies with such a varied funny cast, that don’t take themselves too seriously and just enjoy the fun of it all. I couldn’t really think of anything except maybe the new Jumanji films, but that’s only a smaller cast of 4 main characters. I’m talking 9+ actors with fairly equal screen time, all bringing their own impact on the film. submitted by /u/theYorkist01 [link] [comments]

  • Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver - Review Thread
    by /u/ICumCoffee on April 19, 2024 at 7:14 am

Rotten Tomatoes: 16% (45 Reviews)- 3.4/10 average rating 41% - Audience Score Metacritic: 36/100 (21 Reviews) Reviews: DEADLINE Zack Snyder’s Space Opera Descends Even Further Into A Black Hole Of Nothingness: Slow-motion scenes that sputter story pacing? Check. Poorly developed characters? Check. Plot holes bigger than the Milky Way? Check.…And we’re back, with part two of Zack Snyder Netflix space opera Rebel Moon-Part Two: The Scargiver You might be shocked to hear this, but part two manages to somehow be worse than part one. It’s biggest crime? Nothing happening for way too long Variety : ‘Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver’ Review: An Even More Rote Story, but a Bigger and Better Battle. The second chapter of Zack Snyder's intergalactic epic is every bit as derivative as "Part One," but the climactic showdown sizzles. And guess what? It may not be over. The Hollywood Reporter: ‘Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver’ Review: Zack Snyder, Netflix, Rinse, Repeat If you thought the previous installment was all build-up, you may be distressed to learn that the follow-up is…a lot more build-up. Although this time it’s a little faster-paced and leads to an extended battle sequence comprising roughly the film’s second half. It’s hard to tell, however, since Snyder employs so much of his trademark slow-motion that you get the feeling the movie would be a short if delivered at normal speed" IndieWire (D) The Second Half of Zack Snyder’s Sci-Fi Debacle Is Almost as Disastrous as the First. Any real hope for the second part of Snyder's Netflix epic has been dead since last December, but it's still shocking to discover just how lifeless this movie feels. IGN (4/10) The second part of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon space opera, The Scargiver, delivers a half-baked conclusion to a well-trodden story with flimsy character studies and lacklustre action. Guardian (3/5) Rebel Moon almost certainly didn’t need to be two multiple-cut movies. It probably could have gotten by as zero. But as a playground for Snyder’s favorite bits of speed-ramping, shallow-focusing and pulp thievery, it’s harmless, sometimes pleasingly weird fun. (That said, the first part is better and weirder.) The large-scale pointlessness feels more soothing than his past insistence on attempting to translate Watchmen into a big-screen epic, or make Superman into a tortured soul. Even Rebel Moon’s shameless attempts at serialization – The Scargiver essentially ends with another extended sequel tease, this time for a movie that stands a decent chance of never happening – feel freeing, because they excuse Snyder from the uncomfortable business of staging an apocalyptic showdown, or, worse, imparting a mournful philosophy. The whole bludgeoning enterprise is so daftly sincere, you could almost call it sweet. San Francisco Chronicle (5/10) Does its conclusion make up for the gluten overload that was most of “Rebel Moon”? Well, the series’ not-at-all-original theme is redemption, so that depends on whether you’re in a forgiving mood or sufficiently wowed. Independent (2/5) The Scargiver is at least basic enough to feel relatively inoffensive; the first film’s uncomfortably vague deployment of racist and sexual violence has been reduced to a single reference to the empire’s hatred of “ethnic impurity” (never to be picked up again). There’s a heck of a lot of religious imagery – including an ironically Christ-like resurrection for Noble and a troupe of evil cardinals – that never actually impacts a single plot point or theme. Of course, Snyder may argue that this is all covered in some spin-off book, comic, or video game. Or maybe in the six-hour cut. But what fun is a film that tries to force you to consume more content? That’s not art. That’s blackmail. Collider (3/10) Not only does neither part of Rebel Moon work, but The Scargiver is such a downgrade that it could prove difficult for the franchise to bounce back for more. The story narrows itself so comprehensively that it scrambles to reach for a dangling thread in a forced closing conversation. That Snyder has expressed his interest in making not only another film but instead a potential six movies in total may excite those who also appreciated his earlier work. For those who have now seen these two, it feels more like a threat rather than a tease. Empire (2/5) Marginally better than Part One, but still a weird, messy and humourless sci-fi that gives you little reason to cheer the potential continuation of this Snyderverse. Telegraph (UK) - 2/5 But nothing here or in the previous instalment will make you give the slightest fig who wins. Yes, the world of Rebel Moon is richly imagined, even if its origins as an aborted Star Wars project still remain far too obvious. In place of storytelling, though, it’s built on unwieldy lore dumps: we’re given hundreds of details about this galaxy far far away, but no reasons to care about any of them. Slashfilm - 4/10 Snyder once again displays his usual knack for crafting the occasional breathtaking visual and colorful splash page — a kiss silhouetted by the Veldt equivalent of magic hour, a spaceship foregrounded by an eclipsing star, and a stunning tableau of lasers crisscrossing in the heat of battle are memorable highlights — but his insistence on serving as his own director of photography continues to hold him back at every turn. Release Date: April 19, 2024 Synopsis: Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. • Movies that end with the world ending
    by /u/XD5133 on April 19, 2024 at 5:46 am

I just rewatched the director’s cut of Little Shop of Horrors and (spoiler alert) I really love the original ending with Audrey II taking over the world. Personally I love stories where the villain’s plot actually works out for them as opposed to the ‘hero’ stopping it at the last minute. So this got me thinking: since the Little Shop of Horrors ending is so extreme, what are some of your favorite movies that end with the world ending? I honestly can’t think of many films that end this way. Maybe it’s because I watch predominantly American movies but I’d really love to see more movies where the villain wins in the end. Even if it’s not as crazy as the world ending, what are some of the best examples of the protagonist in a movie losing? submitted by /u/XD5133 [link] [comments]

  • Movies where only one actor knows what kind of movie they are in
    by /u/BadenBaden1981 on April 19, 2024 at 5:08 am

Morbius was memed to death for its poor quaility, but many people pointed out Matt Smith wasn't that bad. Some even say it's the only good part. He's acting is so ridiculous, you can easily notice how different that is from Jared Leto's self serious acting. Showgirls was also ridiculed for how poor taste and over the top it is. Even though it became cult classic and started to get praise as brilliant satire, anyone involved in the film got their career damaged. However, Showgirls also has one actress whose acting stand out. Gina Gershon's Christal has some of the worst/best lines in film history but she delivers it with ironic tone. By comparison Elizabeth Berkley constantly screams, and Kyle MacLachlan acknowledged he didn't realized what kind of movie it was until he saw the final product. Is there another movie where only one actor seemingly understands what kind of movie they are in, and have stand out performance? submitted by /u/BadenBaden1981 [link] [comments]

  • Favorite line deliveries?
    by /u/kilgore9898 on April 19, 2024 at 2:47 am

I'm sure this has been asked before but Best Line Deliveries IYO? So, not best lines (though they could be), but ones where the actor took it to a place you weren't expecting and made the film better/more memorable because of it. I mean, obvs, #spoilers... Network (1976) - I know it's an over referenced movie (according to the subs rules) and while it's got a lot of good things going for it, my focus today is on the acting (of both) but particularly Faye Dunaway's stumbling "Then don't leave me." It's haunting and one of my favs. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLs1fXbOtYvQ7ZNONCrCySlfE3-sULjmT?si=WHvLaZjEKlBqblA5 Black Swan (2010) - This could be such a corny scene but it works because of Portman and her "It's my turn!" https://youtu.be/O51arcoVA2Q?si=deIC-sa5yOr-buC9 IJ: Temple of Doom (1984) - "A boat?! We're not sinking, we're crashing!!!" Yes, yes, Kate Capshaw is annoying af in the movie but her scream and line delivery make her memorable. I've always seen Willie as sort of a comedic relief character and not a genuine love interest. Prob nostalgia but she (and Shortround) make the movie for me. Lol https://youtu.be/abFpTmkxlxU?si=QPQ9jS0ETeQaMrIg https://youtu.be/0u-z-p0rOuw?si=HibVTp1vPxnqnUbn Erin Brockovich (2000) - A pretty simple and common line but I just love her delivery of "I'm not talking to you bitch." https://youtu.be/qxEAJiVBNF0?si=zJp7YFp3mEFwsY10 I left out my all time favorite since it's from GF2 and I'm sure you can shortlist it. It just breaks my heart 😉 every time because there's like conflicting emotions he's conveying and he does it perfectly. Discuss. Have a good weekend everyone! submitted by /u/kilgore9898 [link] [comments]

  • Boogie Nights is Mark Wahlbergs best performance.
    by /u/EverestIsHot on April 18, 2024 at 9:43 pm

Paul Thomas Anderson is one of my favorite directors and Boogie Nights one of my favorite films . I was rewatching it for the 100th time and realized that this is probably Wahlbergs best performance in his entire career. The fireworks scene is some of the best acting I've ever seen and he hardly says anything during it, for the most part it's his facial expressions that really sell that Dirk has hit rock bottom and him realizing what's wrong with his life, all in one scene. Along side the great Alfred Molina who really justs elevates the whole scene. What's yalls thoughts on Wahlberg, is there any other performance that you like from him. submitted by /u/EverestIsHot [link] [comments]

  • In Interstellar, Romilly’s decision to stay aboard the ship while the other 3 astronauts experience time dilation has to be one of the scariest moments ever.
    by /u/SerDire on April 18, 2024 at 3:12 pm

He agreed to stay back. Cooper asked anyone if they would go down to Millers planet but the extreme pull of the black hole nearby would cause them to experience severe time dilation. One hour on that planet would equal 7 years back on earth. Cooper, Brand and Doyle all go down to the planet while Romilly stays back and uses that time to send out any potential useful data he can get. Can you imagine how terrifying that must be to just sit back for YEARS and have no idea if your friends are ever coming back. Cooper and Brand come back to the ship but a few hours for them was 23 years, 4 months and 8 days of time for Romilly. Not enough people seem to genuinely comprehend how insane that is to experience. He was able to hyper sleep and let years go by but he didn’t want to spend his time dreaming his life away. It’s just a nice interesting detail that kind of gets lost. Everyone brings up the massive waves, the black hole and time dilation but no one really mentions the struggle Romilly must have been feeling. 23 years seems to be on the low end of how catastrophic it could’ve been. He could’ve been waiting for decades. submitted by /u/SerDire [link] [comments]

  • *Ricky Stanicky* is a lot more fun than it should be
    by /u/SpaceForceAwakens on April 18, 2024 at 2:40 pm

I find myself loving John Cena more and more like many people here, but he's just amazing as the titular Ricky. This comedy is something of a throwback to mid-to-late '80s movies like Weekend at Bernies, but also has elements of films like The Hangover among others. It's not perfect, and some of the plot points are a bit predictable, but Cena is great, especially when he working with the great William H. Macy, who is a lot of fun here, if under-utilized. If you liked Superbad, then you may like this one. I have no idea why I waited on watching it, but it's great. submitted by /u/SpaceForceAwakens [link] [comments]
