So, the Atlanteans attack. Shuri is killed in her attempt to take the BP mantle and defend Wakandan, or maybe captured and presumed dead. Then Nakia gives birth. Somehow a heart shaped herb is found and given to her, she is powered up and quickly recovers from giving birth (she may even take it while pregnant because she is seriously injured in the Atlantean attack.) Nakia becomes BP and queen regent. She fights Namor, and maybe also rescues Shuri.

Something like that.

What TV show was amazing at first but became unwatchable for you later on?

Season 1 was great and fresh. Season 2 didn’t know what to do with itself and just started giving everyone super powers.

By Season 3, characters were just changing motivations at the drop of a hat and it was just a huge mess of bad writing.

The blacklist, so many loopholes and a never ending plot. I mean, the female hero (forgot her name) was wanted and had her pictures broadcast nationwide live, but a couple of weeks after she can do undercover work.

Not the worst offender, but That 70’s Show tanked pretty hard once Eric left. He was sorely needed to make the chemistry of the group work.

What are movies where the final line of dialogue is the title of the movie?

I was watching Chinatown last night (great movie, btw!) and got to the final scene already knowing what the last line is, cause it’s famous and all, but only then clicked that the last word spoken is the title of the movie. (I know you can hear some cops sorta talking in the background as the camera pans out but I don’t think anyone would say that is the final dialogue in the movie).

Anyway, got me thinking, what are some other movies like this? Last words are the title of the film.

1- “And then they realized they were no longer little girls…They were little women.” – As read by Moe

2- Perfection

3- “I am Iron Man

4- The Breakfast Club

5- “It’s Fantastic.”

6- “Say that again”

7- “It’s Fantastic”

8- “Guys, I think I’ve got it”

9- Fant4stic

10- I told my wife about my dinner with Andre

11- Queen’s Boulevard

12- “By the end of that summer of ’59, we truly were a Fellowship of the Ring.”

13- Mystery men ends with a reporter asking “who are these Mystery men?”

14- “Finally, an end to these Star Wars”

I’d argue he’s the second most powerful member of The Seven

(Note, I’m doing TV Show Black Noir)

Black Noir is my favorite character in The Boys only second to Stormfront (cause she’s hot). So I always wanted to publicly share where I scale Noir, but before I do this, I have to share a few stuff stuff.

  1. The Boys Presents Diabolical is mostly canon, specifically episodes 6,7 and 8.

That’s really all, now sit back and enjoy (or dislike) this answer.

  • Section 1: AP

Black Noir’s AP feat-wise isn’t too impressive since his speed is the real deal, but he’s still no joke since he’s able to fight and defeat Kimiko in a battle.

(I consider this fight to be an outlier since Black Noir should be faster than her, but it doesn’t change the fight since Black Noir is stronger)

And keep in mind this is the same Kimiko that survived attacks from A-Train

And even reacted to A Train while he was going fast

Kimiko speed feat
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This says a lot since she was badly damaged while fighting Noir (Had to use her self healing to survive), and she didn’t even get harmed that much while fighting A-Train since she got back up a few seconds later.

And he has shown himself to be much stronger than Starlight in multiple instances

This is the same Starlight that survived an attack from Stormfront (Same with Kimiko)

And Starlight tanked a Serbu BFG 50A with no injury

Starlight durability #1
Imgur: The magic of the Internet

So already Noir scales above Kimiko and Starlight and scales above A Train due to a better performance aganist Kimiko, you could also argue his AP being at least on par with Maeve due to the tree nut scene and her deciding to use tree nuts instead of fighting him.

But it’s an iffy argument, doesn’t really matter though cause I think Noir beats her regardless.

  • Section 2: Speed

My favorite section yet.

Noir is stated to be much faster than a car

Not too impressive but this is just the start.

Black Noir was consistently able to dodge Homelander’s beams

And dodged Homelander himself

Blacknoirvshomelander GIF – Find & Share on GIPHY
Discover & share this Blacknoirvshomelander GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

I made an answer as to why Homelander is Hypersonic+ at least and his lasers are faster, check it out

Homelander is narratively potrayed to be the most powerful being in The Boys and should be the fastest

Not only that but Black Noir is consistently able to counter Homelander’s beams with his knives and is fast enough to throw them

No one in The Boys has shown a good speed feat like Black Noir just for this (excluding Homelander) not even A Train has shown anything like this.

  • Section 3: Durability

Doesn’t show too much but he’s able to tank a bomb from Naqib

With minor injuries to him

And tanked explosions previously as well

  • Section 4: Others

Not too much but he’s great at Martial Arts, Stealth, Weapons, etc. He’s basically Batman

I hope you enjoyed the answer, wanna thank some people who remain annoymous for proving the scans to some of these

  • Current State and the Future of Zombie Genre, and Upcoming Zombie Projects worth waiting for...
    by /u/GunSmith_XX7 on June 13, 2024 at 5:46 pm

The Zombie Genre is one of my favorite genres, but It just seems pretty dead nowadays. There aren't as many and creative Zombie Projects nowadays. The only good zombie projects in the recent few years are All Of Us Are Dead (which I really enjoyed personally and can't wait for the next season) and The Last Of Us though it focuses more on the journey of the lead characters rather than the fungi infected Zombie like beings, which totally works for the show but I really wanna see more back to the basic zombie movies like we used to have such as Dawn Of The Dead (both original and the remake), The Night Of The Living Dead, The Return Of The Living Dead, World War Z, Train To Busan and Zombieland movies. I really wanna see more and more new zombie movies, I wanna see innovation and some new flavors in this genre, why can't there be a Mega Budget Sci-Fi Zombie Apocalypse movie??? What do you think will happen in future to the Zombie Genre, how can it be revived and be in trend like it once it used to be???? What are some upcoming Zombie Projects that are worth waiting for??? submitted by /u/GunSmith_XX7 [link] [comments]

It feels like there’s SO MANY movies where the central relationship is Father/Son, Father/Daughter, or Mother/Daughter. • pretty/good cinematography movies with more grounded plots?
    by /u/No-Maintenance-3010 on June 13, 2024 at 3:05 pm

I'm trying to find some movies that have good cinematography but not a really big or like convuluted plot. Also not sci-fi, I feel like a lot of the ones people say are like Blade Runner (2049 or not), 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Interstellar. The main example I'm thinking of is Call Me By Your Name, but also like Little Women and The Holdovers kind of have this. Any recs would be really great submitted by /u/No-Maintenance-3010 [link] [comments]

  • For those old enough to remember watching The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) in cinemas, what was the reaction of the audience?
    by /u/hyunbinlookalike on June 13, 2024 at 2:48 pm

This is a variation of a similar question that was asked before, but of the first Jurassic Park movie. We all know just how groundbreaking the first JP movie was and how it’s regarded as one of the best films ever made. But we also know just how much of a disappointing sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park was seen in comparison. Personally I still think it’s a good movie and an entertaining popcorn flick, but definitely far from the sheer quality of the first movie. And as a 2000s kid who grew up seeing these movies on DVD and had no idea what it was like to watch a Jurassic movie in cinemas until Jurassic World (2015), I’m curious to know how TLW: JP (1997) was received by audiences when it came out back then. submitted by /u/hyunbinlookalike [link] [comments]

  • Greatest ending climax/sequence on film.
    by /u/6_Won on June 13, 2024 at 3:56 am

While I think Silence of the Lambs has the most suspenseful ending, it still pales to this one. Michael Mann's magnum opus epitomizes sacrifice, love and vengeance. The scale is really unmatched. Backed by an iconic score and an equally beautiful landscape, along with DDL's display of his craft and Wes Studi and Madeline Stow's best performances. It simply doesn't get better than this. I've probably watched this sequence 100 times and never disappoints. *edit* Shout out to The Last Samurai, especially after you figure out that Samurai is plural and Tom Cruise's character is just witness to the end of an era and a way of life. The entire third act - from when he's dressed in the armor to his meeting with the emperor is really epic. submitted by /u/6_Won [link] [comments]

  • What crappy movie resonated with you because you saw it at the right time?
    by /u/Old_Replacement_9726 on June 13, 2024 at 2:33 am

My answer is Thor: Love and Thunder. At that point I was checked out of the Marvel franchise, heard it wasn't that good, I don't like Natalie Portman, and if I were to watch it today I probably wouldn't like it. However, I saw it 2 weeks after my dad passed and the movie had a father/daughter plotline with Christian Bale and his daughter. Also my dad loved classic rock so when the movie kept playing Guns n Roses I kept thinking "if they play Knockin on Heaven's Door I'm going to lose it." (We played Knockin on Heaven's Door at the funeral). It's almost the 2 year anniversary of his passing so I've been thinking about him a lot lately and thought I'd take to the internet to see if any strangers could relate. It doesn't have to be the whole movie, could just be a subplot or even a scene. submitted by /u/Old_Replacement_9726 [link] [comments]

  • Is there an industry or film specific term to describe when actors dialogue is added post production, particularly short quips or comments for comedic effect while their mouths aren't in frame?
    by /u/zleuth on June 13, 2024 at 2:04 am

I've decided I hate it and I want to know what to direct my feelings towards. Was watching Hellboy(2019) and it was absolutely atrocious. It really felt like any time the director chose to have a shot that didn't require a comment or an aside, someone crowbarred something into the scene. Badly. It had the same energy as someone commenting about a movie while watching it in a theater. submitted by /u/zleuth [link] [comments]

  • What happened to the “obscure sports comedy” style of movies?
    by /u/Reddit-is-trash-lol on June 13, 2024 at 12:17 am

I know that comedy’s as a whole have really died off with studios not willing to take the risk on medium budget movies, but I was thinking about some of my favorite comedy movies growing up seemed to involve some odd, non-main stream sport being the driving force to a movies plot. (Examples being American Football, baseball, basketball, and hockey) Dodgeball (2004), Talledega Nights (2005), The Ringer (2005) (also would NEVER be made today), Nacho Libre (2006), Beerfest (2007), Balls of Fury (2007), Blades of Glory (2007). Looking at the 2010’s Goon (2011) is the closest I think to the same vain of movie. Googling “sports comedy movies of the 2010’s” everything seemed more of a drama and almost all were the big American sports. I don’t know why, but I really love the movies where they act like some obscure sport is actually the most important thing in the world. I started playing disc golf not long ago and the idea of the niche sport comedy would be perfect for how silly the sport of throwing frisbees is. Baseketball (1998) is the earliest example I can think of, any other movies you would recommend to help me scratch this itch? submitted by /u/Reddit-is-trash-lol [link] [comments]

Hi friends, a week or two ago I made my first post about watching every Spielberg movie in chronological order and ranking them. (Link to 1st post: ) At that point I’d only watched 10 films. Now I’ve watched 20. About half his filmography. I’m sharing in hopes of having some good discussion. Here’s my ranking and review: Schindlers List (1994): for me, watching Spielberg’s movies chronologically, this is the first time I feel he has made art instead of entertainment. He strips away everything he was known for at that point, and does none of it. He coaxes the best performances of their careers out of Liam and Ralph, John Williams produces one of his best scores. It’s so beautifully shot and haunting. The black and white was inspired. For over three hours long it is so incredibly well paced. It’s hard to sit through in one go though just cause it’s so so horrific. Jurassic Park (1993): I think if I were to describe the iconic first encounter with the brontosaurus to even a blind person while playing John Williams music, even they would be filled with awe and begin to cry. It is magnificent. The effects are unbeatable. The script teases out wonder like a magician does a handkerchief. It is unending set up and gratification. An unforgettable journey. In truth I consider ET and Jurassic Park to both be 10/10 films. It’s just preference that puts one over the other. ET (1982) So many iconic and hilarious moments: girl holding the frogs, the recreating the movie kiss, literally every scene between drew and ET, the bike chase at the end is more exciting than all of raiders of the last Ark. the two flying scenes. It’s literally like Spielberg took his finished film and dipped it in a big bucket of Iconic. It permeates the whole film. Jaws (1975) truly a masterpiece. Incredibly beautiful shots, well thought out and interesting shots, top tier performances. God level score. Empire of the Sun (1987): christian Bale really comes out swinging in this movie. Just incredible acting. I think the tension at the beginning is the best part of the movie. This isn’t the first time I’ve felt the first half of one of Spielberg’s movies is better than the second half. Close encounters also comes to mind The Last Crusade (1989): the introduction of Sean Connery just does everything for this movie. A perfect dynamic which makes it my favorite Indy movie. I also appreciate that it’s a bit less supernatural than the other two and more of a treasure hunt which I enjoy. Always (1989): not Spielberg’s best, but so far this is his most underrated movie. Katherine Hepburns last film. Helen hunt, Dreyfuss, John Goodman. It’s a really great movie that once again feels like Spielberg’s classic movie in a bottle with just the right amount of romance, comedy, and action. Haven’t felt like he nailed his formula this well since ET in 1992. Close Encounters (1977): I would consider this film better than jaws for the first half, but find the ending to be lackluster. Amistad (1997): I think I may slightly overrate this movie because I love historical movies, but the beginning on the ship is riveting, there’s some truly heart wrenching moments as well as humor. Another stacked cast. I think it’s a really good movie. Anthony Hopkins is so fun to watch in this. Also, I haven’t verified, but I’m pretty sure John Williams heavily reused themes from this score for his score of The Patriot just a few years later. Temple of Doom (1984): short round is a much needed addition. This movie illustrates Spielberg’s iconic balance of action and comedy better than raiders. First iconic hat grab too! I miss Karen Allen and John Rhys Davies though. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): thrilling from beginning to end an excellent start to the universe but it suffers from not fleshing out indianas character more. It’s all just action and romance with no “this is who Indy is.” Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997): it is incredible action but a weak story. And not having a lot of the OG cast is a shame. The Twilight Zone (1983): scarier than I thought it would be. Lots of fun. I know Spielberg only directed a part, but I thought I’d still watch it. Duel (1971): Spielberg’s classic and incredible balance of comedy and suspense is on display here in its early stages. The “My snakes!” “My snakes!” Scene is the best scene in the movie.) The Color Purple (1985): some incredible performances, but ultimately I don’t think it’s one of Spielberg’s classics. One of those stories that I think is truly better adapted as a stage musical. You need to be hearing all those inner thoughts that you don’t get in a standard narrative movie. Hook (1991): in my opinion, one of Spielberg’s most overrated movie. I don’t know why but even with a stellar cast I just don’t care. I wish it would have just been a classic Peter Pan adaptation or something. Robin slays. But I still spend most of the movie just not caring about what’s going on. The Sugarland Express (1974) first John Williams collab. Heartbreaking and exciting. 1941 (1979): jaws intro was hilarious. Few other great moments. Ultimately though, feels like a heartless 120 minute farce. Just gag after gag after gag after gag. Savage (1973): great performances, decent story. Something Evil (1972): not very good. I’ll be back once I’ve watched 30! submitted by /u/mothernaturesghost [link] [comments]
